  1. Hi all I am thinking about moving on with the times and updating to using a dmm hitch climber. My question is is there much difference between the normal DMM hitch climber and the Dmm rapide hitch climber? Cheers.

    All i can say is much the same take your time and you will pass no worries. One thing i will say is make sure you have gone through all of the course criteria which you will need to know and be able to demonstrate. i nearly failed because our instructor left out one of the pole rescues which turns out he had left out on a course before mine as well. Good luck

  11. sounds like a tough deal especially as you told them about the minimum experience that you have, they should not really have taken you on as lead climber maybe as a second climber until you get up to speed. Whats the company your working for?

Cheers guys Dont think im going to have enough time to test the harnesses out before i get them. not sure which petzle harness it is have just emailed them to find out but have heard good things about the seqouia harness as well, iv been climbing on my tree magic for past year which was in my opinion a great harness apart from lack of quick release on the legs which is a pain getting on when your pockets are stuffed full of crap. Anyway cheers all.
  13. Hi all I am starting with a new company which are insisting on buying me all new kit! choice of harness are petzl or the new harkie harness. has anyone got any views on which would be best as i have never climbed on either. cheers.
  14. Can anyone give me advise on a good place to do a tree survey course? Im in the south west england/wiltshire area so places close to here would be ideal but don't mind travelling, Thought i would get the ball rolling, as the company im sub contracting too are getting a bit quite through the spring period.so not to much work!!   17. i will definatly try a local taylor this weekend see what they have to say? the trousers are sip freedom and its a burnt tear about 9 inches long on the right knee. cheers.

  19. Hi all Just got myself a new Yale xtc plus rope and a mate at work said i should soak it in water for 24 hours then leave it to dry???? its apparently called milking?? any advise wold be great cheers
