  1. High winds will help dry the place up a bit then Jon Rain/hail just bounced down for 5 minutes and now the sun is out
  2. Honey Bros near Guildford?...I think that's West of London...somewhere!
  3. Sky has just gone black and can hear thunder on the way!
  4. It's fine to pull over... Funny thing is I bought the Stihl to replace the cheap Chinese combi set I had. That hasn't missed a beat in 3 years of light use.
  5. Nope the valves haven't been adjusted.... I'm just off out to take it to the workshop now, First time I've had to return anything! Hopefully they know their stuff!
  6. There was a loose connection on the coil!....Still refusing to start though! It's got a new plug and new filter now....Nothing else I can do apart from take it back to be checked by the dealer Thanks for your help anyway Rich I'll update when I hear back from the dealers workshop.
  7. I will....If its sexual abuse, rape or domestic violence orientated scenes. Comes from knowing several people who have suffered from those experiences.
  8. Good post, I very much agree. Personally I try to avoid dealing with companies that use this style of advertising. So the company using this ad is less likely of getting any business from me, I was going to be placing an order with them.....probably not now!
  9. The old plug was wet Rich but I couldn't see a spark when I pulled it over with the plug out (and connected! lol). Hence why I put a new plug in to rule a spark problem out, as I read they can go through a few plugs?! The air filter was very wet with fuel though... How would i check the choke is doing its thing?... Thanks for your help
  10. I'm after some advice on my 6 month old kombi unit. Only used about 3 times and barely run in. Last used about 3 months ago though! I've read about the many issues with these units in the search, so just want to see if I've missed something to save doing 50 mile round trips to the dealer i bought it from! Firstly it's run on Aspen so can't be a stale fuel issue, I've put a brand new plug in and had the air filter out and had hair drier on it! Still not firing. I've just washed the air filter in warm soapy water to make sure its not oil soaked in to the filter causing the issue. The filter is still drying at the moment. But if it still fails to fire up I'm at a loss! It had been stored lying down but now stood up so fuel shouldn't leak back in to the filter again if it is the cause... Is there anything else I need to try before taking back to the dealer? Thanks in advance Brian
  11. Can't really help much sorry!....but I have seen that sort of gear for sale in a free magazine I used to pick up from my local services...Had all sorts of heavy plant in....Can't for the life of me remember what the mag was called though!...had stuff for sale from Europe as well as the UK and Ireland.
  12. Yes 6-8yrs is the usual rotation period. I understood it as the OP asked about the first cut for a new coppice?
  13. I think I read that 2/3 years was fine for the fast growing species like hazel, ash, sycamore etc. Don't think if differs dramatically over the different common coppice species though...
  14. Tree planted by Duke of Wellington nearly 200 years ago to be cut down because of safety concerns | Mail Online Thought this might be of interest to some? Not seen it posted before anyway!
  15. I'm right on the border here. There's 2 Welsh styles that can be done and Midland is also done. All depends on what the field is going to be used for. Most of the dairy farms also over winter sheep so would need a Welsh double brush style but if was arable you could do a single brush style, either midland or Flintshire. Then if it was for bullocks or equestrian would definitely need midland. The Welsh styles are sawn stakes and binders are optional and then only single row if needed.
  16. Yeah it would be easier doing it more often. I'm hoping to be offering hedge laying as a service next winter
  17. I ended up doing the 5 days with Karl about 2 years ago now. Seems I do have the general knack for laying a hedge. Welsh border style is straight forward enough. I do need a lot more practice on binding a midlands style though!
  18. I've spotted something similar on some Hazel too.
  19. I actually have a scythe....But I can't for the life of me get the technique....my old man makes it look a doddle! I have a feeling it's down to me being left handed using a right handed tool, so could do with some lessons!
  20. Just a heads up to anyone in the Stafford area Chainsaw maintenance, crosscutting, felling and processing trees up to 380mm (old CS30/31) | Small Woods Free training only for maintenance, cross cutting and felling small trees for anyone already involved in farming or forestry i believe.
  21. I was just wondering about a Mountfield myself. Saw an SP555 with a 20 year guarantee on the deck, Honda engine. I was quite drawn to it....
  22. I'll average 32 mpg on short runs in mine. Got 37 mpg on a motorway run doing 70mph average. I will get 40 mpg when I get stuck in slow moving traffic for a few miles. This is from a 2.5 Denver max not the newer D max.
  23. I've got a Denver Max Rodeo. Mine has the Prodrive performance extra. 25% boost in power and 33% boost in torque at the push of a button. I like it
  24. Just a quick heads up to anyone in the Malpas/South Cheshire area. I heard a guy had about 10 saw stolen a couple of nights ago from a locked shed Plus same area I heard, a building site had a container with equipment stored, someone came in the night and had the whole container away!!
