  1. I had a brand new 200 series on hire and managed to topple it on its side when turning on flat ground!
  2. Hi Folks, Not got much on at the moment, so looking for some days to fill the weeks. Preferably in the areas in title but can travel further if more than a single day. Over 10 years experience in Forestry/Arb work. cs30,31,32,36,38,39,41 ua1,ua2.1.2.3 Chipper ticket cscs card.
  3. Steam pressure washer! It will make the most sapped up ropes, equipment and clothing look like brand new again without using any sort of cleaning liquid and only takes minutes.
  4. Well, here is the trees mentioned at the start of this thread for your perusal. The photos were taken from the pavement, so this is the lovely landscaped view you get to look at!
  5. Hi, What issues arise when soil is heaped up against tree? I'm sure everyone has seen it at development sites where they landscape and level off the ground and push soil around trees and change the level. At a near by car park construction site they have levelled off a banking where there is five mature sycamores, and the soil level is now 2-3 foot maybe higher than the base of the tree and compacted down with a digger. Will this kill the trees through rot, loss of water, oxygen etc? and what sort of timescale would it take before seeing the effects of this damage. I'll take some photos the next time I pass as these trees are virtually overhanging a town main road.
  6. Finally got the go ahead to remove this beech tree, as you can see there is not much healthy wood left around the circumference of tree.
  7. I know it's an old thread but I came across this Dakine builders pack. Bit pricey but like any Dakine backpack I'm sure its durable and comfortable.

    372xp

A local garden landscaper came to me with a non working 372xp that he had sitting in his shed for over 2 years, Bought it for £50! Gave the cylinder a rub down, put in a new piston and replaced the broken trigger. Fired up after a few pulls and dialled it back in. Now my #1 saw of choice!
  9. Thanks for all the advice guys. After giving the owner the pictures of the Beech tree, info on the disease and comments from Arbtalk he was pretty shocked about what could happen and said that he better speak to his father who co/owns the estate about removing the tree asap.........to this day it still stands. I'm back up at a neighbouring farm on monday so i'll pop in to speak to the owner about it.

    048

Well in that case, at least when mine finally gives up and have to throw it in the bin i'll be happy in the fact that i got the saw for free after it sitting in a shed unused for nearly 30 years. It is a dinosaur but when it works good and comes for free its better than shelling out hundreds on a new saw. Pic on 048 muffler thread.

  12. I aquired this saw for zero money, had been sitting in shed unused for over 20 years. fuel line, carb diaphrams, cylinder inlet had all perished. I got all parts plus vibration mounts from German ebay, there is every part you need for this saw on their site. Or try US ebay. The saw runs a treat!
