  1. As soon as Mr Gnome posted the link i checked it out and it had already been removed. Since im getting a bit down about this lol, and my farther in law wants to chip in aswell. I think im gunna hold off for 6months and get a nova dvr-xp. Might aswell sort out a space for it and have one lathe for a life time. Even if i dont do any turning for a while itll be there for when i retire lol
  2. Mr Gnome thats what ive been looking at but again its the length. Until i used more wood up, or try and squeeze more into the wood shed i wouldnt get it in with out ,wiping out who ever decides to walk through the door lol
  3. Cheers for the offer slim. If you could pm me a number i could call or text and receive pictures etc that'll be great bud
  4. Lol chippy its been removed. Have totalled up a cl3 with everything i think i need at around 820. Still think thats a bit to much to spend on a hobby and with our 3rd climber soon to arrive. May have to just wait a while 👍
  5. Lmfao at £1800 as a starter lathe he can keep it lol. Plus havent that much room
  6. Cheers bob ive asked slackbladder (steve) to keep an eye out since hes in some clubs and within my local area 👍
  7. Whats their hobbys or jobs? Maybe strip 3/4 of the bark off and carve ivy humming birds etc as an enchanted forest !!
  8. Just looked on internet. But what are they into? Maybe base it around that
  9. Anybody else ? Info ,news of lathes being sold locally ? Cheers
  10. Yeah. I was on about the warranty from record power machines and my bench sander.
  11. Rubber i meant. The teeth wear quickly. O and think a 1/2 hp motor would be ideal for the lathe.
  12. Dml24x is 24" in length i think bud. And i think im just going in to hard. And the plastic belts are crappy.
  13. 7th i had seen that dml24x but wasnt sure on it plus its fairly long. At the most i can fit a 1.4-1.5m total length lathe. Then i was gunna go brand new with record power again due to its 5yr warranty. As i seem to go through belts like water to a fish on my bench sander which they just send out another one free of charge etc.
  14. I was gunna buy a clarks lathe from machine mark, this weekend but have resisted for something better. With most makes you can add legs and extensions to increase the distance between centres which is what i was thinking of doing once the lathe had paid for its self. Also i dont have a massive amount of room hence a bench mounted version to start with
  15. So have been looking for a lathe for a while now, and decided on the record power dml 305 but my local shop cant supply it due to their suppliers only stocking a lot larger lathe and unable to sell the 305. Im looking at something that can be bench mounted 12-18" between centres and a total of 12-15" dia bowl to be turned. With or without a swivel headstock Any other suggestions for a lathe ? Or has someone a spare they would like to sell. Im also looking at buying a supernova chuck and a colejaw set. Im wanting to start turning pens bowls ,dish's ,square plates etc to start with and like a lathe thatll be good to start off with and great when i gain more experience Thanks dan
  16. A quick one for a friends mam, cancer free for four years now
  17. Glad you all like it there barry 👍
  18. Recieced these today carved by simon hill👍 How amazing are these
  19. Yes devil great little tool, and cheap to start out with. As with the vibs ive bought routers 100 or less and thought it was worth noting. The other makes mentioned i wouldn't consider to be cheap, but are good
  20. great for starting out with and more. Isnt as heavy as the £300 ones and a great all rounder. Youd need a converter to run this router about £60 and the router it self was £65 from the trend website 👍 Ive got 3 routers and always go to this 1/4 machine. The major thing i noticed was the lack of vibration from the others i have. Defo a look
  21. Lol spent ages looks for it weeks ago and went out 30secs and it was right in front of me! Doh lol Cheers bud
  22. Pm me with the size type of wood etc bud. Also if its for indoor /outdoor use👍
