  1. If only I were closer mate
  2. Didn't mean all dealers Justin sorry if it came accros that way ive allways had a great service from you. The dealer I bought it from says they havnt had any problems and the same from the shop that's having another go at sorting it yet another says they have stopped selling the 261. Guess I'm just a bit disappointed in the saw and having to wait at least three weeks to get it looked at
  3. I know that and you know that. I think it's just the dealers trying to cover up a bigger problem
  4. Put mine back to the dealer and have to wait at least three weeks so not happy at all. Tom did you get the usual that's strange yours is the only saw doing this that we know about.
  5. No mate as never needed to hire one in the end
  6. Dean nail on the head it's a Scottish thing. I'm led to believe sark/sarking is an old Scottish word meaning to cover so my old journey man said:001_rolleyes: nice tidy job you have done with the flashings and re slate
  7. I've still got over 3 months left on the warranty so tHey can have another go at trying to sort it. Then they can't say ive not beeN fair to them as the saying goes once bitten twice shy three times I'm not sure lol
  8. I would normally agree with you but I've only used the saw to do my cs30/31 and a few weekend jobs before it went bang the first time:confused1: now after it has been fixed it's only been used for a couple of hours and it's started squealing again like it did before it went bang. I spoke to the dealer today and it sounds hopefull it should be sorted out:thumbup: so I've to drop it of to my local dealer and get it all checked out and any problems to pass on there contact details. So fingers crossed
  9. That's good to know that you managed to get a refund:thumbup: might pm you if there being funny about it an you can tell me more pls
  10. Afraid not mate. I got it at the highland show so will have to take it back to sherrifs but will have to call them on Monday. Wouldn't be so bad but lucky if it's done 40/50 hours tops:thumbdown:
  11. I'm tempted mate:blushing: they can't be any worse than this saw:laugh1:
  12. Hi all my 261 is still under a year old and it's had the sprocket and bearing ect replaced under warranty last month. I was useing it today and the clutch is squealing and the saw cuts out when idling so I've lost faith in it now and as I see it it's not fit for purpose. So my question is has any one managed to get a refund and what do you think my chances are? I'm now thinking of going over to the dark side:evilgrin02:
  13. Aye you guessed right. Your not wrong about some of the prices stuff was going for:sneaky2: think you need to know when to stop and not get caught up in the bidding
  14. I've just picked up an etesia pro 51 I think it is self propelled for 26 notes the Honda engine is worth more than that. If any one has a spare grass box for one give us a shout. Keep an eye out for ex council sales as you can pick up a good bargin
  15. Have a look on FR jones site as there is quite a few boots in the clearance section
  16. I think your right about them being planted as a wind break as it is really quite open around there. But they were dieing or dead along the bottom of the trees and the customer wanted them out as they are putting in a big extension in to the side and back of the house. Will mention about putting in extra stakes for the other trees but I thing there coming out to when the building works start
  17. Did it in just over two days but they wernt long full on days. That also includes logging up all the logs for fire wood plus loading it up on to the trailer. Then trying to get hold of the farmer for a day and a half hence why we had to spend longer on the job than planned but hey ho that's life I guess
  18. Lol mate your not wrong there but it kept us busy for a few days even if the weather was horrible yesterday
  19. Soak them in diesel or you could take them down to a local lifting company and throw them a few quid to stick them in the shot blaster an they will come out like new
  20. We filled four carts nicely packed and squashed in by the manitoo. Then it was time for a good tidy up and here's the finished job. Hopefully I will get the job of putting up the new fence to
  21. Hi all just thought I'd share my first self employed job with you all and the view was soon opening up the time had arrived to call the farmer to come down and drop the 20x8x4 cart but then the next problem arrived we couldn't get hold of the guy with the chipper. After a bit of quick thinking and a word with my farmer mate who would let us just fill it as it was so que the big boys toys this sure beats loading the cart by hand
  22. That sounds good I've just bought my first silky:sneaky2: and my mate said he thought the blades were thinner:hmmmm:
  23. Your in the same position as me. I started by buying my ppe and saw gradually to help with costs then I did my cs30/31. Then I have been lucky enough to be able to work at weekends with someone on here (cheers you know who you are) got my pl insurance and I have just started my first private job today so just keep plodding on and you will get there if you want it enough. Good luck mate
  24. I'm starting about 8.30 ish tomorrow but there isn't a lot of houses near by
  25. Cheers pal I might take you up on that offer:thumbup1: only downside is the distance
