  10. I do feel for the ants slugs and snails when removing tubes, but then the tubes will end up in the oceans eventually .... we're all doomed ☹ That is until we make road surfaces, fence posts / panels, road signs , park benches etched out of them. But then again still in the stomach of sheep cattle and fish... We're all doomed. As Prince Charles said decades ago we are the first generation to realise that the are destroying the planet and we are the last generation to able to anything about it .
  11. If you're hungry enough yep.
  12. 97 thousand planted one one estate alone last season 15 thou on another. Planting November to March = lots of plastic. Morals or mortgage?
  13. Indeed. No wolves = too many deer No hunting = more hares etc( God those saplings taste nice) Cardboard is the way, just got to last a decade ....
  14. Have taken off thousands of 4ft tubex tubes. 1 woodland management agent asks for them to be left at the end of the racks to be collected by the keepers. Which the were not so just blown around the woods.? Another agent wanted me to burn them ? no thanks. And another wants the young 5 to 10 year old ash cut to replant and says just cut through the tubes and leave the on the ground ?. And these guys went to university to lean about woodland management.......I despair

  20. Hi, I still can't decide whether to get a makita ea 5000 or another husky 550 this wOundle be my 4th in as many years (althugh One did have a fight with a fowarder?). i Like the 550 but only seam to last a year in full time forestry before pot and piston give up. Anybody know about the makita? as my husky 372 is a bit overkill for first thinning and is a little old.

  22. Hi there,

Steve bulman said you may have info on dolly/makita saws.

I run a 550 for small stuff but it' is getting tired . So looking for the 50cc range as it's nice and light.

I use a 372 for the bigger stuff.

    Cheers
