  1. It sounds like the no stress setting need to be changed as the revs are dropping too low before it kicks in. Mac at greenmech can tell you how to change the settings.
  2. A bottle jack or trolley jack usually works well
  3. Mines done the same & greenmech wouldn't fix it under the warranty as it had not split yet. Mines about 3 years old too! You can just about get your arm down the back to the grease nipple if you have one with a flexi hose on it.
  4. Are you sure? I know all the metal work & paint work on the st8 i briefly had was fabricated elsewhere or at least thats what they told me at the time
  5. The whole chipping chamber & tank ideally needed replacing due to where the dodgy welds were. The other defects were not too big a deal or urgent & could of been done at a later date. I were given a couple of options wait again for a replacement or have my old chipper & money back, since there was nothing particularly wrong with the chipper i traded in i decided to go down that route after giving it much thought
  6. Already said what the issues were
  7. You couldn't be further off of the mark, a convenient get out for what exactly?? I was really impressed with the ST8 after i demo'd it hence why i ordered & paid for it. Im not saying i would not deal with redwoods again or that i would not buy another in the future. Why would anyone buy a machine because the competition has one? Surely you would want something better than your competition!
  8. The hydraulic tank leaked in 2 separate places on delivery. The second leak only became apparent after the 1st was patched up as a temporary measure & filled with hydraulic oil again. The other defects were not such an issue & were going to be sorted in due course.
  9. Very easy to be disappointed with something that has several defects from day 1 a couple of those meaning the chipper was not fit to be used in my opinion. After the delivery date being pushed back constantly after paying for the machine i decided the best option for myself was to return the chipper for a refund rather than wait another 2 weeks for a replacement chipper to become available.
  10. My ST8 has now gone back for a full refund after 2 weeks with zero hours on the clock. Very disappointing!
  11. I got my grab & rotator from riko for my mini digger. Saves a lot of lifting!!
  12. Ive got one for my digger & its great in the right situation, not much good if theres a lot of brick rubble in the soil though as they do tend to wander & have a habit of finding pipes & cables
  13. Sounds like i ordered my ST8 in time then!
  14. Feels like ages! I demo'ed it back in August
  15. I was thinking about going down this route but i am starting to re-think now after reading this thread. Trying to teach someone something simple like using a shovel!
  16. Im really pleased with mine saves no end of time!
  17. Yes i seem to have it too!!
  18. Yes i think thats what it said on the plate although i may be wrong!!
  19. Yes it is a bigger version. The quad chip has had several on going issues 1 of which still is on going. Could not fault the chipping performance just the build quality & dealer service/back up.
  20. Weighs 1250kg, great chipper get mine in about a month cant wait after the problems I've had with my quadchip. I had a demo of the st6 6 months ago & were impressed with the quality but the hopper was just a bit too narrow!
  21. I would not buy another one! Go for a chipper thats built to a spec rather than a weight. The service & back up is not all that it is made out to be. Based on my experiences i would not buy another Greenmech.
  22. Yeah its great, half way between a micro & mini digger at 1200kg. The reach & lifting capacity is good. It will go down to 750mm - 990mm, under arches & inside buildings with the roll bar off or down. 2 speed tracking & servo controls so just like the bigger machines
