  3. good job i dont work for you then.
  4. not the sort of relationship that is likely to turn sour. his words not mine to stick an advert out in the paper, all our work is with local council so me looking for domestic stuff isnt going to create any conflict of interest.
  5. hello all. boss at work is happy for me to use equipment for private work for a small fee. Its up to me how far I take it, What is there stopping me sticking an advert in my local paper and seeing what comes from it. obviously i would need to take out some public liability insurance. And if I get stuck with any thing i have the right people on hand to help me out. . how did you start things for yourselves? Advise needed please.

  7. Does any one know any company that can offer this course as distance learning. I spoke to a company this morning over the phone and they said the course is no longer being run, could you please advise, thanks mark.
  8. used for joining two lines of same or different diameters.
  9. nice one big J.
  10. i would advise going to your local C Brewer and sons store and quiz them on there technical knowledge, iv forgoten alot of the tecnical stuff. what timber is it you need to protect, sadoiln combo in a light colour wouldnt change the timber colour much more than a clear coating does. and its semi micro porus so timber moisture isnt a problem.
  11. The reason alot of clear coatings dont work outside is because in alot of them there is nothing to filter out uv rays, the best exterior coatings have a small amount of colour to them, so try something like sadolin classic as a base stain, this is a low build wood stain that penetrates the timber, then as a top coat use sadolin extra this is a medium build stain that surface sits and protects the surface. really hard wearing and used in this combination will last a good few years. from memory liberon do some really good exterior danish oils that have uv protection in them, other than that yacht varnish is a really hard wairing finish. hope this helps
  12. can you recommend any awarding bodies for cert arb, and can it be done as distant learning?
  13. after doing the basic nptc and lantra operator certs, im looking at what long term studying options there for me, ideally i would want to do distance learning to minimise the amount of time off work, so what good alround arb quilifications are there. advice please.
