  1. To store in a draughty building or just under cover with piling sticks every foot and lots of weight on top or if possible ratchet strap to anchor points on the ground and paint the end grainy with really thick old paint or pva
  2. I would leave it as long I you could in the full log the longer the better soon as it's planks when green is splitting , warping and bending all shapes really nice wood is yew splits way to easy even when dry

  11. No defiantly not ,30 to 50 possibly make two nice newl post out of it for a bespoke staircase
  12. Cherry is beatiful but needs to be bone dry and when turning try not to get the wood hot and also when sanding don't get it hot or it will split
  13. Probably lucky to get 100£ for it as it green and alot of work involved

  15. I agree with Ian you all have yards full of wood and us woodturners only want a few bits , and by the time we have sorted 4 or 5 bits out your asking £20 , where as we go to a craft fair and it's all dry and ready to turn for the same price
  16. Yeah that's true sold a quad on eBay and 4 young lads came to collect at night had really shifty eye in and out of everywhere they were so they soon get shooed off , nosey , thieving scum !
  17. Wooow kinda getting a tiny bit offended here I haggle with my wood prices when buying but if you didn't ask silly prices I wouldn't and I don't spend £3 at a time on wood not worth putting my hand in my pocket
