  1. Brilliant - thanks for the quick response; the processor was borrowed for the weekend and I was sure there must be a mechanism for retracting the ram.
  2. After spilling logs all afternoon, on the last log I've got the splitter ram “locked” onto a log which it is unable to push through the splitting wedge. No obvious function to retract the ram - is there a way to relieve the pressure on the ram without disconnecting the oil pipe? Cheers Trevor
  3. Exactly the same problem in Aberdeenshire, we have 20+ trees all effected, plus some rowans that are in close proximity, I’m leaving them hoping they’ll recover next year. We had a very long dry spell in March followed (like everyone else) by a very wet summer. Trevor
  4. Recently got a HP Envy in Costco, I’m really impressed with it, by far the best printer I’ve had, can’t remember the exact cost but around the £120 mark. Trevor
  5. Thanks for the replies; it would be the rough deck and the 42 inch lawn deck I’d be after, is it a fairly straightforward / quick operation to swap the decks?
  6. Just wondering if anyone has experience of a DR FBM-30K All-Terrain Field & Brush Mower (17 HP Kawasaki Engine), I’m thinking of getting one with a 42” lawn deck attachment, the idea being to get one mower that will meet all my needs. I look after approx 1 ½ acres of lawn, usually cut twice a week, plus 4 acres of rough ground between trees with a lot of nettles, brambles docks etc, which is cut 3 or 4 times a year, plus about 1 ½” acres of rough sloping ground covered in bracken. At the moment I’m using a mower and Stihl clearing saw with a shredder blade, but it’s taking far too long DR FBM-30K ALL-TERRAIN FIELD & BRUSH MOWER (17 HP KAWASAKI ENGINE) DR Power Equipment - Brush Mower / Brush Cutter - 42" brush cutter lawn deck I’d really appreciate anyone’s experience with this mower or suggestions for an alternative setup. Thanks Trevor
  7. For sizing the thermal store to your boiler, the ratio that is usually quoted is 1:50, so a 10KW boiler would suit a 500lt accumulator.
  8. We're fitting a Perge 30KW log boiler with 2500lt accumulator which will be situated in the garage, it'll run UFH downstairs and radiators upstairs & feed a unvented HW tank in the house. We choose the Perge for its simplicity.
  9. Absolutely brilliant, thank you for posting…when we first found out, earlier this year, that our 9 year old child had diabetes and we were told about the possible side affects it was scary… fantastic to hear about people who’ve lived with it for years and who are healthy, active and old!!!! Thank you
  10. Many thanks, I think we'll suggest doing a similar thing with the basal, at the next vist to the hospital:thumbup::thumbup:
  11. Shane....you're very active, I'm assuming that will have helped you keep insulin dosages down, particularly your basal. My daughter climbs at a local wall once a week and we've found that climbing really drops her sugar levels dramatically several hours later, if we aren’t careful she would go hypo in the night. Do you change your ratios after climbing? Thanks TC
  12. We know a tree surgeon locally who has type 1 and has no problems; my daughter took type 1 earlier this year and it has been very positive for us seeing other folk with type 1 getting on with normal lives and careers. My only thought would be if your insurance company might want to know? TC
  13. That's the way we do it and we pay 5% on an artic load.
  14. We have a Belle Major 30-140 Hydraulic Power Pack, picked up on ebay, 13hp Honda GX390 petrol engine, 140 bar pressure, 30 litre per minute flow rate. Works the splitter really well & very portable, weights ~70KG. TC
  15. We've currently got Charnwood country 12 (no back boiler), we're very happy with it, well built and does the job. In our last house we had an Aarrow stove, again well built, nothing to complain about although out of the two I'd chose the Charnwood. No experience of Hunter stoves.
  16. Hi, no we don't use bags, we move a trailer which holds 1.6m cubed, up to the house about every 2 weeks, some times a bit less, sometimes a bit more but on average we get through 3m cubed a month. Over the next year or so we'll be doing a lot of building work and hopefully once we've sorted out insulation and installed a log boiler and accumulator we will need a lot less to heat the house.
  17. We easily burn 3m3 a month of well seasoned mixed hardwood, likewise our stove is on 24/7, (a Charnwood County 12), it’s our only heating but whilst our roof is well insulated I reckon our walls are effectively transparent to heat!
