  1. Down to greenmech to be fair.. They are the one who appointed orange as they would buy a lot of machines for there hire fleet.. Took dealership away from my local dealer olivers, although to be fair to greenmech they have let him order parts as there are times machine would of been down without his help.. As for orange , timberwolf withdrew there machines and in the short term greenmech will do well, but not in the long term.. Small minded buisness
  2. was there from 1999 until just after foot n mouth around 2003
  3. ***** central after Newcastle west from experience.. Working foe esb most of the time but done time in the woods and also larger clients in dub
  4. If England would choose there players who play abroad they would win!!! The welsh would not have a chance if they did not pick theres!!!
  5. Why advertise for work when its not needed? only let customers down
  6. Spent a bit time in cootehill in the woods and fishing and Mullingar but was mainly on the west.. We were there for months and got constant grief.. I suppose 30 English lads and 20 scots pissed them off
  7. Lived in both... All over the west (brefni cottages in Leitrim) Plas hall just outside betwys and a pint or two in llanwryst or however its spelt. Many friends from skibereen to Sligo.. None in north wales!!
  8. some nice big trees down that part of the world.. Just don't let them know your English if you are!!!!!!
  9. Bloody sure!!!!!
  10. Should employ more experienced staff.. End of the day I can see workers point of view if he regarded it as dangerous, but then how experienced was he>? On the other hand I see it from an employer point of view and bet that team still wanted paying. I see lads who cant be bothered on jobs so say its dangerous..
  11. That's fair enough, you need to cost these factors in then you need to jump through the odd hoop, but you charge for it in one way or another
  12. Just a money making scheme but you got to have it on sites.. Don't matter what other certs you got and how good you are...
  13. Not if its not sign written.. We work away a lot and have Isuzu/Toyota pick up with fabricated backs on them. When parked in a carpark at a hotel of supermarket it just looks like the reps navara.. If they new there was 3 or 4 grands worth of chainsaw in the back I am sure they will take more notice.. Used to work for a company in midlands, had vans done over near tring, and soon as ****** new what was in the lock boxes they got done all the time as just looked for company name.. Got some plain vans while others getting repaired and never got any bother. Also as has been mentioned you will find it hard on larger sites as big companies don't want you winning a job then getting someone else to do it.. Has large forwarder in last week and had to put magnetics over there sign writing on the machine....
  14. You cant get labourers card anymore.. For £20 you may get the test but not a card and companies like balfour.morgans. carrillion. galiford will only accept card and they are the biggest companies.. If you think nptc charge £17 for a bit paper card!! never mind a chipped plastic!!!
  15. Just advertising whats in the truck!!!
  16. But you still need to apply for a card that relates to your trade.. And still have to do a day course. You cant get away with just doing the old green card as don't exist anymore. All changed in july.. Also if you only pay for test then you wont get card and a lot of major companies wont let you on site without the card.. Caused me a lot of problems putting lads through it and also financial cost:thumbdown:
  17. Unless you subbie to jesmond, plus are you using own saws , fuel etc
  18. Martins used to have them fitted to all there 530t .. Fitter always said they were going down with the vibration of the chipper,, also had 3 stolen in one night from a farm in tring.. When they checked the trackers they found one of them in London going around on the train, as they had removed them and chucked one on a train. So pretty worthless according to fitter as anyone with a bit knowledge can remove them as not many places to hide as has been said
  19. Bigger the chipper , less damage seems to be caused.... Rails is hard at times but have lots of work in front of me.. As for the arboriculture side . then yeah time is money , so getting the job done is main priority, but I also have a HND/Degree in arboriculture.. Can make more money in utilities than connie bashing or council work...
  20. Navara sat down Wetherby at highfield.. Good price and low miles.. Bought a few vans off this fella and all been well
  21. We hardly work nights... Plus if I do a sat night its double bubble.. Get paid and save as no alcohol involved
  22. well currently employ 4 crews on rails.. Pay all my lads well as would expect that myself. They are happy and I am happy as all making a good living. The amount of work about at the mon {in the north} is great with virgin taking east coast.. Next 5 years hopefully will be good as 5 year plan in place..Work it what you make it.. Done all the fountains ,glendales, til hill etc over the years for my sins.. Talk about bad pay!! try being a team leader for glen country in north east anyway
  23. A lot better money ands less tidying up.. Has its downsides such as thorn but normally get good sites . Also I know what orders I have seeing me until this time next year... No f@@king about tidying lawns up and trimming conifer hedges... Everyman to there own...
  24. Yes seen that done before on nightshifts with lads wanting to be away...
  25. Yes a lovely pandrel... MAke it worse its a loan machine, would not normally run chipper as small otherwise as 8 inch or greenmech normally spit them out with damage to blades
