Is this in reference to a new car or just a car, because if it's the latter then a mornings work could buy a car not much of a car but a car. Can't get my head round how it's cheaper than days gone by with relation to wages and cost ect. When I was 17 and i'am 33 now, to fill the tank was £42 thats at 78p a ltr insurance £300 and road tax I think was £82.

Lets put this whole thing to bed, went and seen the job last night the man is happy to burn the brash on site and cut the trees into lenths. He agreed on £1200.00 i said i would 2 running in to 3 days start to finish. The closest quote he had was £1800.00 for the same procedure. And he was quoted £2550.00 for removal of chip. There is 2 acres of waste ground beside where i will be cutting. I now i didn't explain things in great detail but as i said before didn't see the need to as it was only a rough idea just to make sure, didn't see the need for so much sarcasm and falling out. But then never realised i was dealing with SEASONED PRO'S and nobody else. God help if you ever have to deal with the odd bad thread or question. Some people on Arbtalk find they have to reply to every post and it seems even to upset themselves.

Get nasty, everybody has gone all girly over a question. Relax yourselve's, never went out to upset anybody, doesn't seem you have to try to hard round here.

Relax mr excitable i never gave all the details as i was looking a rough idea, not asking anyone to price the job for me. I had a fair idea and thought i would ask for some help. As said before you don't need to get involved if it makes you so upset.

Bigger boys meaning jcb's unimogs and massive chippers, just cause they have spent plenty of money doesn't make them any better, faster maybe more turnaround more money but there taken bigger risks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Let you know tonight how it goes, he never wanted me up till tonight but he told me his address so i took a run past. All looks straight forward but i know it won't be that easy am sure he's had quotes from the bigger boys thats why i will have got phoned.

I know it does only having a bit of a laugh thanks for your help, we all do things in different ways, and i don't mind asking silly questions am happy in the fact that i am not an expert in everything.

I never compalcated the question so don't you try. All that shouldn't change the quote by a vast amount, when i say fell and removal for site and 30 trees a figure should be there in your head. Your trying to hard it's all right you can all calm down i have what i came here for.

Seems crazy to ask prices on here! Have you read some of the posts on here asking prices seems ok to me. Am not claiming to know everything it's also nice to see who sticks there neck out, there plenty of chat about everything else so why not see who is prepared to give a ruff idea of a price.

There always has to be somebody! 40-50 FT high and 2.5 3.0 ft dia there is no other problems i said straight fell on to waste ground.

Bit of a problem here, i have to quote for the take down and removal of 30 laylandii. Theres no problem in the job itself it's pricing it that am stuck at! I f am honest i havent got a clue where to start. I know people don't like to band figures about but even something close what would be excepted would help. There will be myself and another person working and there is no time frame in which it has to be completed so no panic. They are all in a row and no tight spaces with nothing to hit.

Theres thousands like him in every trade, am sure theres men on here that could tell better storys of hearing about high priced quotes. I know i have heard a few theres no real standard price for tree work and if people will pay it people will take it. -

Stephen your laughing, us being scottish doesnt help i suppose, but the nutters over here are having street partys and all the bunting is up on a certain side you understand. And there even setting up large tv screens in the steets, i am just back from scotland and theres hardly a bottle of beer in my local tesco left. The whole thing is nuts am going to go potholing for 12 hours tomorrow
