  1. Fine tool for logging work. (Worth running a good flat file over the tip to keep it safe)
  2. We always sell in CUBIC METRE's. (That's because we sell seasoned wood to happy people) If we sold in the ton I would want fresh felled oak and leave it in a river for a week. Moisture content will change a little depending on weather and season.
  3. I think all the rotten scum who steal from small business should have the hands/feet/eyes removed. We had a serious problem with some "Gypsies" (Legal Fact) and although the local Police/CPS had DNA and knew who it was did not take more action. Take as much time as possible with cautions in securing property even on work sites and ALWAYS mark it in numerous places and take photographs. I would be interested in a remote/mobile CCTV system that sends details to a mobile phone if someone has details.
  4. Clearview 650 with water heater system. (Can load this stove in the morning and will still be going when home late with a pan of stew on the top) Jotul. (Designed for Norwegian wintertime where life could depend on it working at -33C) Homemade gas bottle version!! (Fun to use in the woods)
  5. Who will gain from this? The person doing all the hard work in the woods? More like some office based scheme like FSC which raises the overall prices to customers. I attended a meeting at the National Forest and views there were waste of time.
  6. New to this interesting forum but been in the trade for 20+ seasons. I have checked all the PDF's from DVLA/VOSA and all vehicles unladen 1525KG and trailers 1020KG have to be "O" licenced and have an electronic "Spy in the Cabin" if used to earn a living with. (A Land Rover 90 Pickup is over this unladen weight) The reason we all have to do this paperwork and needless costs to small business is to keep the civil servants in work. I have stuck in Agriculture/Forestry although the income monies is less than Tree Surgery as there is much less hassle. We can legally run a machine with no MOT/TAX and low insurance and tow two trailers to a site!!
