  1. Meeting at Tescos Blandford at the Bottle bank end of the car park at 9.30 leaving at 9.45. We will aim to finish about 6 maybe a bit later depending what everyones commitments are and how far they have to travel to get home. PM me for more info or if you can attend. So far its dad and i's 110, a friend of ours monster discovery and Mendiplogs aka jon.
  2. One of our ponds we have on a site in sturminster newton. We have Great Crested Newts on the site which was going to be built on and the ditches filled in. This time last year we had the fire service fill the pond up. No need this year. Also some after pics of a couple of windblown Ash. One of which had fallen over slowly so everything underneath was under massive tension.
  3. First heard this on Radio 1 Live lounge. Really like Ed Sheerans stuff. Will defo be buying the album. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_af256mnTE&feature=context-gsm]Ed Sheeran - Small Bump [Official Video] - YouTube[/ame]
  4. Clay Kitten Shooting is a good laugh providing you aren't a cat lover.
  5. One of my colleagues thought he got pinged the other day in the work truck. Turned out it was a mirror on a blind junction tucked into the hedge. It was more the flash which caught us out.
  6. Is there access for a MEWP? If not then felling would be the only other option. Personally i don't think the tree will barbers chair. With the amount of rot there is at the failure point there wont be enough tensile strength in the fibres to cause a barbers chair. The best way of seeing how much holding wood there is at the base is to cut out a box of wood from one side to the other. That way you can feel for the soft points and see how much good wood is left. Just a thought.
  7. Not on my bench but in the dealers. Our FS450 this morning had a massive amount of fuel in the exhaust (well over half way full). We got it running but wasn't happy. It wont idle and it keeps popping through the carb. It is the 6th time in the past 2 months we have had to pour fuel out of the exhaust. We store it engine upright hanging off a bracket with a clamp on the shaft. Other than the way we store it any ideas what is causing the fuel to collect in the exhaust?
  8. The same Ash stumps just dried out a bit and bleached by the sun.
  9. Nope. Just looks like it
  10. Will be checking this crack out tomorrow. It doesnt look like an expansion crack and is above a tight fork union with stazi ears. There were some large horse chestnuts on the otherside of the road which were felled as they had G australe at the base and 3 fell over in the Jan winds.
  11. A British Standard stile. The local estate asked if we could put a stile in as horses were using the footpath and were using the silage field as a gallop.
  12. BBC Sport - Speedway rider Lee Richardson dies in crash He used to race for my local team a few years ago. Not a nice way to go:thumbdown:
  13. May pay the plain a visit to have a spash n dash there. Doing Chitterne Down mud hole, Yarnbury Castle and the Gibbet Lane for some sideways action if we have some rain:thumbup:
  14. A fine yet small example of small limb too much weight.
  15. Must be small as cant see em:001_tt2:
  16. Yarp. Was waiting to see if anyone spotted them.
  17. A funky yellow number which appeared partially underwater in the recent floods.
  18. Wednesdays Footpath clearance run. We checked it two weeks ago and it was only about ankle high.
  19. 1800 metres of stock proof post and rail fencing with two 20 ft wide field gates in the middle and 3 stiles. Broke the tractors post driver on the 10th post so used a drivel for the rest of the job.
  20. Dad and i are out off roading again on 26 May. We shall be doing one of our local long lanes (Old shaftebsury drove) and the famous Ox Drove. There will me scratchy bits, lots of puddles (occasional deep ones), mud and the od stretch to give the suspension a work out. Let me know if you can make it. So far it is just dad and i's 110 and a friends of ours disco.
  21. Doesn't look like a massive tree in the pic but it is one of the oldest trees in town. stour inn blandford - Google Maps
  22. It wasnt on their database.
  23. Just logged it on the ancient tree register for it to be verified.
  24. As per title found a monster Ash pollard which has been left to its own devices. It is about 6 ft across, in two parts at the base, completely hollow and tucked away just off a public footpath.
  25. Bit worrying eh jon. Still got Dorset police helicopter and portland coastguard to use if needs be. Even the solents RAF seaking if times are really hard.
