  1. Cheers jon. The last thing i want to be reading is people bickering about such silly things before Monday.
  2. Old man was reversing out and clipped one of the bins. It flexed but so did the wing lol. Why lanmd rover didnt use steel for the body work i dunno.
  3. Anyone got one of those receycling bins from your local council? Just a word of advice, they arent as car friendly as they make out.
  4. Ha ha. I was thinking what the hell did i say. I had to read and re-read several times. I think it was a red wine and ale induced rant on my part too.
  5. Thats cool my man. Read and re-read my post several times lol. Trying to find what i had said to offend.
  6. Will be even bigger on the 17th when Poole quad have a ride out to there.
  7. How was it out of line bud. I was giving the facts. Yes it has come across as a bit of a slap in the face and i wasn't there but i know he wasn't speeding for that stretch of road from speaking to his dad and the rider that was with him.
  8. HE wasnt speeding for that stretch of road. It is a national 60 limit but most locals do between 60 and 70 on the stretch where my mate was killed. From speaking to a work colleague of my dads who was first on scene it was obvious it was the drivers fault as the rider who was with my mate and two other witnesses said the car wasn't indicating so he didnt know they were going to be turning into the junction. It was the G forces involved in the accident which caused the the injuries to the couple in the car not my mates speed (60-70mph), there was nothing he could have done in the 30 yards he had to react when the car pulled across in front of him. It always gets my hackles up when people automatically surmise that because a rider had been killed or seriously injured that it was the biker which was at fault which is rarely the case.
  9. Been dodging thunderstorms today. Although we got caught full bore by one on a bridleway clearance. A massive fork lightning took out a substation in stur newton. It knocked out half of stur and most of the surrounding area. We were at shillingstone and saw the massive flash and heard the equally big boom which shook the van.
  10. Some pics of various flowers from today.
  11. I became David Bailey today on one of our open days at a site in Sturminster Newton called Butts Pond Meadows. They are protected because of Great Crested Newts which breed on the site and are present all year round.
  12. Had an attempted break in into the bottom council yard in blandford where the bin wagons are stored with full tanks of deisel. Trouble is petrol disc cutters aren't very subtle at midnight.
  13. Another stile replaced and moved from its old location so it can be seen from the road side. First pic is some stunning parking by my colleague today.
  14. Saw another group heading north up the A354 this morning. Atleast another 30 vans and associated vehicles and trailers (including 7 horse boxes). We had one of our ponies stolen in Thorncombe at some point during the week. They just undid the hoop nuts and pulled it past the padlock so they could get in with a van and box and did it back up. So now looking at a whole new gate and locking system. I suggested about a timber gate at the car park and a forestry gate further into the woods with deep ditches either side.
  15. Had a fallen/snapped out Ash limb to deal with first thing on a byway caused by our old friend Inonotus hispidus.
  16. Saw a large contingent of very very swanky transit vans with trailers (some with horse boxes with horses in) heading on sharpish from Blandford in the general direction of Shaftesbury. The majority of them had a tree surgery sign of some sort and/or roofing/fencing tarmacing livery. Didnt get reg numbers but police have been informed. Just want to give you guys the heads up.
  17. Got the LA TO coming out and head of the county arb team who are going to be doing the work. When the TO and arb team boss see the crack i recon it will be down early part of next week. Only need 1 climber and a groundy as we can supply the trailer to take the chippings away. Will want to be be there taking pictures of the dismantle.
  18. Kingston Maurward might be your best bet as if i remember correctly they have a small biomass boiler.
  19. Got some nice shots of some spindle flowers. Dainty little things that my camera doesn't normally pick up.
  20. Boss has given me the go ahead for one memorial bench which is cool. He said i can have/make any design i want. Going to make one out of solid oak which we have stored in a shipping container so it is bone dry and mostly straight. Will take me about a week to 10 days to make.
  21. Deisel being a poser as normal:lol:
  22. Not much to report today apart from going to a large estate auction with dad and saw the shoots gear sold. Everything from a 1994 Manitou which sold for 12 k down to beaters flags which sold for 15p each. Didnt get any pics of the the auction but did get pics of some flowers on Milldown when out with the mutts.
