  1. I was wondering what everyone does for their tree at the festive time. Are you traditional, are you modern, Holly and ivy, or silver tinsel? I spent so many hours pruning, weeding, digging, and selling real ones that I got a realistic looking fake. The dogs don't seem to want to pee on it as they do with the real ones, and no needles on the Chateaux floor! So, What do you have and why?
  2. Conni hedge from hell, phone line running the full length, right through the middle. About 80 meters in length, 5 high and 7 deep. High voltage line at one end, lane to one side- with constant coming and going from neighbour, precious garden the other side, a shed, a garage and a stable. Oh and a Basset hound that wanted to catch every branch on its way down. Never again........
  3. Today she proved herself again, this time on an Oak dismantle (only the limbs) upto 9" diameter. Marvelous!
  4. Update, she has just done 3 solid days conni topping and did a fantastic job! I wish everyone would stop with their bitching about these saws. They are not 200t's and not designed with the same task in mind. Only good comments on 192t's on this thread, park your prejudice at the door!
  5. No, too close to boundaries, house, swimming pool, other trees etc. he said " you'll only want your topper, it aint that big" it was 30" at the base! had to borrow a saw from the home owner, clapped out husky 340 with a 13" bar, Pain in the barse!
  6. Today I had a call from my groundy saying he had taken a small weekend job dismantling a macrocarpa, and had bottled it when he got to the top of his scafold tower! Could i spare an hour to get it on the deck?
  7. I like my stien plasma, can't comment on other types.
  8. very first thing would be a rope and practice your knots, using the arbtalk knot guide. Also some friction cord/ split tail/ prussic loop for the same practice. some karabiners to get the feel of their opening and closing. then a harness and helmet for going skyward. Good luck in your endevour.
  9. Here's my attempt. Mrs. Normandylumberjack is not impressed!
  10. Not thought of a name yet, bit like full metal jacket, when they are told to name their rifles. "This is my chainsaw, their are many like it, but this one is mine. I must master my chainsaw, as I must master my life. Without me my chainsaw is nothing, without my chainsaw I am nothing" any suggestions welcome for a name, was thinking about my first girlfriend's name, as she could handle 12 inches, 14 if the fuel was mixed well!
  11. Here she is after her first day of work, I love her so much!
  12. I see, so rip it, to make it a more natural cut, a bit like a coronet cut?
  13. Maybe you should all have a warm shower together, daisy may!
  14. Farmers weekly, at the end of the classifieds is always loads of potato handling gear.
  15. Looks handy, tell you what, send me one and i will do a review for you! I'm sure I could pay the postage if that helps? as long as i get to keep it i will do a thorough job!
  16. Thanks for the feedback, they are still available here, just under 400 euros inc. tax. not sure for how long with the ms150t coming out soon.
  17. I have just purchased a 192t secondhand for the newest wing of my company, tree surgery. I have used other's toppers in the past and with only limited funds it was a choice between an Echo cs3000 and the 192t, and i have to say so far its lovely. I have been using a silky and a 346xp as my 2 ariel saws and on a recent willow reduction got fed up with the effort of the silky and bulk of the husky, i think i will be very happy with her. Can anyone offer any tips for the newest saw in the truck? obvious maint stuff i got down, but any idiosyncrasies with this model? Cheers me dears!
  18. Has anyone tried filling their rayburn with wood chip? I was thinking of chipping some clean, seasoned, small diameter hardwood and fill the coal scuttle up to try it, I figure it should bun slowly as their is little air gaps. Is their any reason why this would prove stupid, or dangerous?
  19. Ditto, I also use it if my bar is a bit too short to meet in the middle on large butts.
  20. I read this on facebook today, made me giggle! thought it might save a few of you guys the discomfort! sorry if it offends anyone:001_tt2: Copied from someone else - This was a review on Amazon for Veet hair removal cream for men! Dont put it on your balls! After having been told my danglies looked like an elderly rastafarian I decided to take the plunge and buy some of this as previous shaving attempts had only been mildly succesful and I nearly put my back out trying to reach the more difficult bits. Being a bit of a romantic I thought I would do the deed on the missus's birthday as a bit of a treat. I ordered it well in advance and working in the North sea I considered myself a bit above some of the characters writing the previous reviews and wrote them off as soft office types...oh my fellow sufferers how wrong I was. I waited until the other half was tucked up in bed and after giving some vague hints about a special surprise I went down to the bathroom. Initially all went well and I applied the gel and stood waiting for something to happen. I didn't have long to wait. At first there was a gentle warmth which in a matter of seconds was replaced by an intense burning and a feeling I can only describe as like being given a barbed wire wedgie by two people intent on hitting the ceiling with my head. Religion hadn't featured much in my life until that night but I suddenly became willing to convert to any religion to stop the violent burning around the turd tunnel and what seemed like the destruction of the meat and two veg. Struggling to not bite through my bottom lip I tried to wash the gel of in the sink and only succeeded in blocking the plughole with a mat of hair. Through the haze of tears I struggled out of the bathroom across the hall into the kitchen by this time walking was not really possible and I crawled the final yard to the fridge in the hope of some form of cold relief. I yanked the freezer drawer out and found a tub of ice cream, tore the lid of and positioned it under me. The relief was fantastic but only temporary as it melted fairly quickly and the fiery stabbing soon returned . Due to the shape of the ice cream tub I hadn't managed to give the starfish any treatment and I groped around in the drawer for something else as I was sure my vision was going to fail fairly soon.I grabbed a bag of what I later found out was frozen sprouts and tore it open trying to be quiet as I did so.I took a handful of them and tried in vain to clench some between the cheeks of my arse. This was not doing the trick as some of the gel had found it's way up the chutney channel and it felt like the space shuttle was running it's engines behind me. This was probably and hopefully the only time in my life I was going to wish there was a gay snowman in the kitchen which should give you some idea of the depths I was willing to sink to in order to ease the pain. The only solution my pain crazed mind could come up with was to gently ease one of the sprouts where no veg had gone before. Unfortunately, alerted by the strange grunts coming from the kitchen the other half chose that moment to come and investigate and was greeted by the sight of me, arse in the air, strawberry ice cream dripping from my bell end pushing a sprout up my arse while muttering..." Ooooh that feels good ". Understandably this was a shock to her and she let out a scream and as I hadn't heard her come in it caused an involutary spasm of shock in myself which resulted in the sprout being ejected at quite some speed in her direction. I can understand that having a sprout farted against your leg at 11 at night in the kitchen probably wasn't the special surprise she was expecting and having to explain to the kids the next day what the strange hollow in the ice cream was didn't improve my status...So to sum it up Veet removes hair, dignity and self respect... 223 Comments | Was this review helpful to you?
