  4. :L Nah, its only me in some of the shots. It is me in the one with the two old folk though. I didnt know them and basically just said "Fancy being in a picture?" so I just sat next to them in my sheet and clickity click. The thing is they could have done anything and I wouldnt have known until i checked the camera! Its one of my favourites "Hes always in the ****... its only the depth that varies". That was the Latin report I recieved from school! Sam

  8. Have you got any more information about the growing scheme? Sorry I cant help you with the chip -but last time I checked it was about £80 per ton round here. It will be a kind soul who gives it for free, but theres a few about. I have done a fair bit off work with a community orchard scheme and wonder how they compare Cheers, Sam

  10. And pictures 3 & 5 in your Horse Logging album are brilliant mate
  11. Their some fair sticks there HL. You contracting or your own woodland? Sam
  12. I dont really do anything serious yet. Going to the Barony College in Dumfries to do Forestry with forest mechanism, so hopefully do some "proper" felling when Im up there. At the moment I use a "farmers" MS390 with an 18" bar, all I use it for really is thinning in our little hazle wood and round about for dropping firewood and limbing. Think I will upgrade after college to a pro saw (If im any good ) and like the look of the Husky 576Xp with a 20" as an allrounder, though maybe something a bit smaller. Sam
  13. What sort of bar are you running then for clearing that sort of stuff? Thanks, Sam
  14. Hum, Looks abit rummy to me - sort of chinese. But I have'nt got any knowledge of that model. Should'nt it have a Chain Break? (Doesnt look like it should from a bit of Googling) Same seller, same saw? Listed twice? STIHL 070 CHAINSAW 36" LONG BAR (RRP. £1400) NEW on eBay (end time 31-Aug-10 16:25:50 BST) Sam
  15. Im joking mate They do make reasonable rucksacks though. Sam
  16. Nice job What do you think of the Husky? Sam (Sorry for bringing it up. Again!)
  17. I wouldnt buy a waterproof made by Berghaus Paramo's Velez Smock is brillaint. I have two, an orange one and a green one. They are the only "modern" type waterproof I will wear. The green one I have used on the hill for stalking for the past 3 years and I bought the orange one for photography, walking and scrambling last winter. Second to my Swanndris I think they are the best jackets I have come across. They are completly waterproof and very windproof too. A real cracker of a jacket I wouldnt be without one. Páramo Sam
  18. AGREED. The first one makes me laugh every time though! Sam
  19. I do indeed Im just getting to grips with the new one. Sam
  20. Good stuff, I do alsorts, but dark and moody landscapes are my favourite. One of the best things to do to improve your skills is take pictures of animals and people, its hard to get right! Playing is the name of the game, all this "rule of thirds" stuff can wait Sam
  21. Thanks Dean, what sort of stuff are you doing? And we are all still learning Sam
