  1. Mate for what its worth I would agree with Big T for thick stuff ARC stick welder, simple and reliable switch it on and go even if its howling a gale and your outside. if you can get hold of one of the old oil filled units they will go for ages only downside is they are a bit on the heavy side I have Gas, Mig and ARC and most of the time its ARC I end up using. Mig is ok for thin sheet materials and the more exotic stuff like aluminum but you have the Gas rental and added issues with feed etc . Gas I use mainly for Brazing, cutting and pre heating, you can weld thick metal but why would you when you can do it in half the time with a stick and its easy to carry :-) definitely recommend a auto darkening visor saves loads of hassle. Just what I have found out while repairing my way through life, good luck with your choice mate :-)
  2. Guys some of you may already know this and for those apologies , There is a change to the law coming in on the 4 Dec regarding small trailers which in basic terms means if you are using your vehicle and trailer for hire and reward ie paid business currently trailers with an unladen weight not exceeding 1020kgs are no problem, but after 4 Dec if the total weight or potential weight IE the trailer is platted at say 1 ton and the truck gross is 2.5 tons whether laden or not, Or the maximum train weight equals 3.5 tons then it will need a vehicle operating license HGV class 3 and a taco fitted. So as I understand it all Goods vehicles towing trailers for hire and reward where the maximum train weight exceeds 3.5 tonnes will be affected by this. !!! just for your info :-)
  3. Flipping heck just been to my local B+Q and they have got logs for sale, so I have a nosey as you do. 8 aprox 7 inch logs in a nice green net £7 a bag but if you buy one you get the next for half price !!!! Glad I don't pay for mine ,well apart from diesel and chainsaw maintenance which don't equate to 65 pence a log
  4. Cheers thanks for the reply, Stripped and cleaned it and pressure check it, never found anything obvious but running like a dream again now (fingers crossed) Must have disturbed some crud in there somewhere Thanks again
  5. Hi Guys posted this but it never appeared so if this comes up with the other one sorry I have a Ms230 which has just developed a problem so I thought I would ask the people who know before I open her up !! when I start up if I try to increase the revs it starts to spin up then dies!!! then it takes a number (3-4) restarts before it will get up to full throttle. After it gets to full throttle it will start and run fine until it is left for a good while (1-2 hours) then we are back to starting and trying to rev !!! I am sure its fuel related and im going to strip it down tomorrow all being well, just looking to see if anyone has had this before and if so what to look for Cheers in advance for any info

  7. Not quite what what you were asking about but I have been using one of these 7 Ton Hydraulic Log Splitter just reduced from titan pro, order a new 6 Ton Hydraulic Log Splitter today for over a year and split about 12 ton and apart from a few minor repairs it has done me proud. It copes with all I throw at it just done 1 and a bit tons of eucalyptus with out a hitch !!! just a thought ;-)
