  4. One of the five eggs has matured. Stank to high heaven and was covered in about 30 Blue bottles . One more visit to try to capture the other four. I think I now know what porn addiction must be like. Trouble is the strife believes mycology to be just as bad.
  5. You really didn't miss anything speicial Paul. Bunch of egotistical Red necks that ain't smart enough to know better than to get out of an industry that's loosing One hundred people a year due to greed and failure to understand very basic Safe Working Practices. Telly won't be switching to C5 next week in my house. .
  6. Apart from getting involved in the clear up, the morning after the "Great Storm" I was driving along the North Circular towards Capel Manor where I was taking C&G Hort, when I crested a hill at East finchley doing about 60 in me little blue Mini, didn't see the remnants of a wind blown Poplar until it was too late, locked the brakes span the car mounted the curb and broadsided a lamppost Dashboard came loose ended up in the back, three punctures and little old me dazed and confused. Whilst in shock, refitted the dash, didnt think about the tyres and trundled along the Circ to Capel. Got some very strange looks when i eventually got there, and then got told the college was actualy closed due to the Storm .
  7. Steve, can the entries be from earlier posts, and will they be judged on picture quality or content or both? Silly question I know, just want to clarify. A number of very good entries so far. Where you been John? On Missus parole? Cheers David .
  8. Dean, is this the guy I saw out with his mog and kid near Keighley, when I was on the way down to the climbing get together? From the tone with which you talked about him, he will surely be missed by the local arb fraternity. Sad news mate .
  9. I was a llowly and maggot here on the Heath at the time. London was hit very hard. I spent months working with the Arb Teams, shifting Timber from different ground zeros to a Car park that was being used for burning our and two other LA's arrisings. Inspired me to jump ship and join the world of the Trees Hard but happy days. .
  10. Appreciate the comments, and once again thanks for the input, Dave. I will update the thread to show whether or not this system does indeed have benefit. Am also considering the purchase of an Air Spade, so will hopefully balance the debate on different techniques in the future. .
  11. Would be very interested to see any before and after shots, do you have any Chris? .

  13. are you suggesting I'm gonna kill the poor Tree? If I do, the Orchard will the proud owner of a 150yr old dead Pear Monolith with added fractures, coronets, bat boxes etc, etc, etc................ ........................................Not.

  15. Oh my god, what an idiot. I get the impression crane work in the UK is on the serious increase, I fear the above incident will happen here all too often in the future. Loads of have a gos with out the training or experience to deliver. This site is a great platform for the pros to show there money shots, but this type of warning should be put out more often to balance the Risk management of this technique. Great post Mike.

  18. Nice looking job there Iain. Having spent a grand couple of weeks up near there recently, my wife would love me to uproot from the big smoke and get a post like this. If I wasn't so attached to the Heath, I'd be very interested. Hopefully the suits will get wind of my itchy feet and chuck me a nice raise to keep me Yorkshire definately needs a good few more monoliths imo .

  20. Hello Mr Bashford. Who & where's the lucky lecture crowd. Really good to see a continued presence by the Consultant members of our industry at the shows and here on the forum. Keep up the good work. Personaly feel that's the attitude that helps glue us all together. Btw........ would you have any objection (copyright) if I colour-copied your fine A4 fungi handout, so I can reduce in size for a better fit in my rucksack? This continues to be a very helpful aid
