We run 2 safe tracks and we're told we couldn't use them on line blockages unless they were fitted with the back up electrical drive system , so they can be moved in event of breakdown , they are fine on everything else. I asked Greenmech last year at an open day if they could build me forwarder type machine based on 1928 chassis . It would have smaller engine and have crane operation from where you drive machine now, the plus side being you could get it wherever you get a chipper and remove timber or crane feed chipper.
