  1. Hey guys and girls, just after some quick advice on what I need to take which would permit me legally to put signage on roads and traffic lights ect. Chapter 8? or is there a newer update available? I have had a quick look on the internet, but can't find anything really definitive. Probably just being thick! Your help and advice would be greatly appreciated. All the best. Tom
  2. Ha think your right John, its been perplexing me as to quite what it was. Still learning! Many thanks
  3. I am self-employed, based in North Yorkshire. Did the job for a friend who lives up there. The job took a very leisurely 2 days over the weekend. The reason for the switch from SJ to HC was because on the second day I used a Pantin to ascend right to the top and I prefer using the HC with the Pantin. Best TC
  4. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mr_cLzyqhfI&feature=player_embedded]Dismantling Pine Tree - YouTube[/ame] Due to lighting damage and its position to the road this large pine was condemned and taken down. I can be watched in HD if you so choose, comments as always welcome! TC
  5. Hey Tom, Have just sent you an email, hope you got it. Kind regards Tom
  6. A great informative thread. Here's a couple of my first ever reduction from the summer. The client wanted quite a substantial reduction. However personally I still think I took to much off!
  7. Thankyou guys for all the comments. I was really pleased with how it went as it was my first ever rigging/lowering job. Apart from my CS 41 which I completed a couple of weeks ago. So I am pleased that no one found any glaring faults with any of it!
  8. You are right that it is more things to fail. However I think that for smallish stuff and provided you don't overload the steel karabiners and slings, it is an acceptable risk. As Marc and Scottythepinetree have already mentioned it tends to be a bit quicker!
  9. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKVjA6XaE-s&context=C3b81060ADOEgsToPDskIyN6cGkw5XKKFbL97KNIFw]Dismantling Sycamore - YouTube[/ame] The tree was taken down as it was leaning towards the clients house and they had started to become concerned whenever there was a strong wind. Comments welcome
  10. Great vid Ian, I have just ordered a Spiderjack today thanks to some of your comments on other threads. I will say that the GoPro Hero 2 does look a little sharper than my Drift! Slightly annoying...... By the way have you seen the new GoPro H2 advert on youtube? If we weren't in such a cool industry, we would probably want to re-think our lives!

Dear Alex, I am just wondering whether you could give me some advice on the Lockjack Sport and the Spiderjack 2. I am think of buying one of them and would just like to know the difference between them. I currently use a Hitch Climber with a V.T, which I love. I have heard both the LJ and the SJ are " all or nothing " with the speed of the descent/adjustment. Is there no middle ground or adjustment to the speed?

    Many thanks TC
