If your picking up the firewood yourself, it would want to be be at min. 4-5m3(loose) of softwood.

Enjoyed that alot, as mentioned already, its great seeing all the kit being assembled for the likes of myself (not in the tree industry) and other interested parties. Very smooth operation.

Mulching blades are great in dry weather alright, grinds the grass to dust if your doing a light cut. Will look alot neater then typical side/rear eject clippings, and if yours is a side eject machine, with the mulch guard in place you won't have to worry about how you approach raised beds, gravelled foot paths, etc.

Double up perhaps, safety spec's and mesh visor. Always go down this route when I'm using the brush blade anyways, especially when its stoney old ground.

Howdy, Have you looked at any of the Negri machines - inparticular the R185 with hydraulic infeed roller. Negri, il marchio verde - Homepage - Attrezzature da giardino hobbistiche e professionali Irish dealer is PJ Callan, co.louth - Paddy Callan Farm Machinery, Ardee, Co.Louth, Ireland Can't vouch for this particular machine but i have a slightly bigger pto Negri chipper/shreddder and its a pretty nice, simple, easy to maintain piece of kit. Excellent back up service from Callans as well, always have parts for my machine in stock, etc.

I'm a domestic user myself, and have found over time and through trial and error my skills have improved. Funnily enough, i started using the stihl guide holder as well first off and found it didn't work as nicely as my dads oregon file guide. Then as brushcutter mentioned i tried one of the husky roller guides File gauges - Filing equipment and haven't looked back since, by far the best method i have used over the last few years.

What do you's experienced tree fellers reckon then - a leaner? with too high a back cut? or was it always gonna snap, without the use of a bore cut?

Thanks for getting a video sorted, didn't expect it to be as fast a system as it is. You most be well chuffed having built that as well. Good job mate. Tell me, is the chainsaw automatic when you tilt it, or do you have to engage a hydraulic lever for it to cut? Looks like it could be, but couldn't be sure from the footage. -

I missed our uni's class annual field trip to lyme regis. The bug people used to love this place. seems to be a good place for finds alright. Not quite the 'burgess shales' of places but not bad.

Nice compact setup mate, The Same used to be a very popular choice of tractor over here in Ireland back in the 90's on farms, but have been gradually replaced by JD's, and NH's.

5500e all in, so about 4500£ or there abouts. Very expensive toy alright.
