  1. Good job, I agree with all the posts. I would add that Roundup if applied correctly will not harm newts and frogs (or indeed any other vertebrate or invertebrate) and can be directed away from vegetation that you wish to keep. You do however have to get permission from the EA. All of this maybe rather time consuming.....your solution is probably best!
  2. I always wondered what you were up to in the bushes at Coed Darcy...dreaming of Paris!
  3. Julian did work with us and Tom still does. Tom is becoming Dorset's premier climber! I enjoy your pics!

  4. Send me a PM if you want a chat. We are based in Piddlehinton.
  5. Not too bad.....missing Wales (and you)! We had Graham pulling out fencing for us at Barry the other day, will get in touch when we next have a project in your area. How is your work going?
  6. Sawn timber dries faster than split wood as end grain is exposed. This is why sawmill off-cuts make good firewood!
  7. We have just received this...if anyone knows Tom PM me! I will give their email to Rosy. Hi there my name is Rosy Rogers from cornwall .. im wondering if you can help me im looking for a tree surgeon from Dorset and was wondering if he worked for you. His name is Tom i met him at the sunrise celebration in somerset (last weekend) on monday the 6th June, i stupidly didnt remember is surname and had no contact details for him as my phone had ran out of battery. i cant find him on face book and this is my last option to find him. All the information i have is that he is a Tree surgeon from Dorest, likes wind surfing, has a white van and is a cancerian. He has browny blonde hair, nose ring and a fit physique & a tatoo on his forearm. i really want to find him can you help? many thanks rosy x
  8. My understanding is as follows; Firstly if your Unimog id registered as an Agricultural Vehicle then you can use red diesel BUT it has to be used for agriculture, forestry or fishing. Arb work is not necessarily covered. Agricultural Vehicles can not be used more than 20 miles from home (unless transported on a low loader). To use a Unimog like this there is no requirement for an O licence etc. This law is not really enforced particularly! Possibly a Unimog could be registered as mobile plant, this would need a chipper attached etc but the mog could not transport goods (eg chip) on the road. If the Unimog is registered as a goods vehicle then one would need an O licence, the right class of licence to drive it, a tacho and regular checks. The mog would then need to run on white diesel. The law is a nightmare, the speed limits are all different etc etc. Sometimes the tranny and chipper is the best to be stopped in!
  9. We can do it, based in Dorset and past Romsey at least twice a week
  10. I have a hard working enthusiastic employee (of nearly six years) who is keen to expand his horizons and work abroad. He is a proficient cutter (but not a climber) with lots of other fencing, spraying, landscaping skills. Any leads........Many thanks!
  11. If you haven't found a Lucas Mill we have one. We are based in Dorset so are not far.
