  1. I have just bought hd security chain, a track lock & ground anchor. All excellent commercial grade security . They do a telescopic post . I'm not good with photos and links but Google thief stoppers by lincmaster, their phone number is stickered on timberwolf chippers.
  2. Glad to see he was wearing his seatbelt
  3. Sorry to here you have engine problems again John. The only issues I can foresee is mating ip to the electro mag clutch, maybe trial & error to get the correct belt to drive the wheels. I know what you mean about the Honda popping and banging, mines done about 900 hours now . If you find a suitable replacement I may well follow suit when the Honda gets tired.
  4. Wishing you a speedy recovery. I had 3 months off with a fracture , last Nov to Feb. My insurance still hasn't paid out due to them wishing to see 3 months of accounts prior to my accident. My books are not completed until end of tax year. I'm hoping to get it back paid shortly . They are quite happy to take your premium, not so keen to give it back. I hope you have some good mates in the trade to help with your work load, people do seem to pull together when times are hard. All the best.l
  5. At last a government that's not going to squander all my taxes and will encourage enterprise, shame the country is mortgaged up to the hilt. If scrotum face stayed in power much longer we would-be bankrupt like Greece. I don't envy Camerons task I hope he brings some unity and wisdom to the British government.
  6. I run both stihl & husky combi engines. The stihl is far superior , far better build quality . The husky is 23 cc and the stihl 35cc, but stihl offer I believe 4 different engine sizes. I would recommend against carbon fibre extensions I have broken 2, the steel extensions are built to last. The dedicated bag is an over priced con, mine is held together with cable ties. They are an excellent tool but I believe you can now purchase a hedge cutter attachment for the stihl pole pruner , to give you another option.
  7. Only mad dogs and Englishman, still I guess we are all eccentric & bonkers to be in this game. If you can pull it off cool id love to see the pics. I agree with you short wheelbase looks better & handles better off road but pay some consideration to axle weights a 130 has more weight in front of the rear axle therefore spreading some weight onto the front axle. You may find with the nose weight of the trailer and too much weight behind the rear axle the ar$e will be down and the steering too light. Good luck and hope you can pull it off.
  8. I often hire a freelance climber with tattoos , a tree which covers his whole back which he regularly gets out. I don't have a problem as the standard of work is high, although when going to quote a smart impression does count.
  9. I don't like those cordless angle grinders at the beginning of the vid. Every pikey owns one to unlock all your padlocks.
  10. Guys if i had been offered blades for 150 I would probably have bought them however I had to pay 220 inc Vat. I have had original oe blades crack not the pattern ones, that speaks volumes.
  11. How's about we avoid manufacturers excessive mark up and post where to get cheaper spares. I've run a Jo beau m500 since 2005 so have a few tricks up my sleeve. When I bought the machine fletcher Stewart said new blades would be 120 quid, when I come to replace them they nearly doubled. My local precision engineer in suffolk manufactured me some. They got cheaper the more sets we had. I went in with a mate, bought 4 sets between us for about 500 quid. I have had them sharpened a couple of times they are as good as originals.
  12. Yeah I struggled too. Slow to feed, bungs up a lot then to can it all you got to shovel the chips up as it drops them , doesn't blow them. We bought a Jo beau much better machine.
  13. With regards to linking a back boiler up to oil fired central heating. We had an old school plumber, flow & return to dhw, then 2nd flow & return linked to radiators. dhw gravity fed, upstairs radiators gravity fed then central heating pump fitted to bring hot water to downstairs radiators. If we switch the oil fired boiler on then the original thermastat will kick the oil in and out automatically if wood burner not hot enough.
  14. I looked into a biomass boiler but went for a charnwood boiler stove that runs 10 radiators in the end. I'm afraid you need woodchip with a moisture content below 20%. The commercial biomass suppliers chip seasoned timber with the exception of a few very efficient boilers. You could always go down the route of a log fired boiler in an out house, big fire box that you load up once a day then hot water stored in a 1000 litre accumulater tank. We worked out that a woodburner with built-in back boiler was best for us. We paid under 4k including the plumbing. These biomass boilers are more likely to be 10k. I hope this helps.
  15. You get what you pay for mate. If it's too good to be true it will be, cheap import, probably not hse approved.
  16. We have done a check, I believe my engine rpm to be 2800, its been running at that speed for 5 years. I don't think I shall bother cutting it back.
  17. Good vid John. I was wondering if your throttle goes all the way open, I'm sure it should rev a little harder. I have got some good photos of mine to post on here but can't seem to upload them onto this site, maybe its because I view this forum via mobile phone. Any tips anyone ?
  18. Hello Paul, got the cast off my leg, weak and pathetic. I went out on job yesterday. I was rake up boy!

  19. We were thinking of fixing an rsj across the chassis on a tracked tw190 , then fitting a ball hitch . We have a small towball mounted winch. It would pull a stuck trailer with a snatch block. I'm bit worried it would damage the chipper chassis now through.
  20. Spot on, you found the thread and more importantly found the carb breather, my work here is done, happy chipping. I have a dome headed filter in mine but anything would-be an improvment. Now all you need is a muck truck with greedy boards.
  21. Give us a call tomorrow we are out in the sticks so the signal is poor.
  22. I have run a Jo beau with the Honda 24hp engine since 2005, during its first 18 months we had nothing but trouble with the problems you describe. There should be a filter on a breather on the carb, mine was missing. This is not obvious as the breather looks exactly the same as the many blanked off casting holes on the carb, but it does draw **** in especially if you chip dead wood. Remove carb from the engine and pour petrol through it , where it drips out there is your breather hole. It is difficult to clean that carb fully by stripping I would recommend putting it through a sonic cleaner, large workshops have these. Once you have a clean carb get a filter on the breather, end of problem. On the rare occasion it has played up since tip some redex in the tank, seems to be a miracle cure. I hope this has been some help . For further advice 07941149873
