  3. Hi Tim i recently left the army and did the course at kingswood, im now running my own business and never looked back. Be under no illusion though mate, the work is hard, and it can be a steep learning curve especially if you run your own outfit. The course at Kingswood is first rate and all the instructors are top blokes. Go for it mate you'll love it!!! Cheers Dave

  9. Hey Not had much of a response!! Thought there would be a few more takers given the present economical climate especially for the apprentice position!! Thanks Sean for your email and C.V i'm away at the moment but i will be in touch soon to discuss the position further and arrange a meet up. Cheers Dave
  10. I'm not actually that grumpy unless provoked!!! lol
  11. Hi all. I am currently in the process of setting up my own business in the Dorset area. i am based near Dorchester and expect the business to be fully up and running within 4 to 6 weeks. As a result i am seeking contacts for potential employment. These initially will be on an ad-hoc basis but may lead to a permanent position depending on work etc. I am looking for the following prospective people. 1. Experienced climber with relevant tickets to include dismantling. 2. Experienced groundsman with minimum 30,31,38 3. Apprentice groundsman with 30,31 and hopefully 38, if not working towards these quals. I'm sure the experienced guys know the score with regards work ethic etc, however the apprentice needs to be self motivated, hard working and have bags of enthusiasm and initiative. I am not after a robot just someone who can turn up bright as a button and graft all day without moaning questioning everything and playing with their phone!! It is extremely likely that the apprentice position will become permanent from day 1. This is a good opportunity for a young lad or lass to start with a brand new company and work from the bottom up. Of course all this depends on the company getting plenty of work. If anyone is interested in the above positions then please forward a CV to myself at [email protected] For the apprentice position this should include a covering statement detailing why they would like to work for my company and a bit about themselves. Please do not badger me for a response i will respond in due course. Cheers Dave Smith
  12. Hi mate Speak to Kingswood training i'm a squaddie and did all my training there, he's also got alot of contacts too. He also got a show running there in August, be alot of local tree surgeons there!! Kingswood Training 09 - Home | Kingswood Training 09 Cheers Dave

  16. sorry mate it means £100.000 a year not £100 a day
  17. Just a thought!!! Young soldiers on the frontline in Afghanistan earn between £50 -£70 a day before tax with a £2.5 k taxable bonus if they make it back after 6 months!! i myself have done 13 yrs in the Army and earn a respectable £32k. Do i think i'm worth more? damn right i do. but i aint gonna moan about it, i did it cos i used to love the job! the pay was a bonus!!! i'venow chosen to leave the Army and pursue a career in Arb, a hard choice but family and staying alive mean more than a few quid!! i adapt my life to my earnings. if i wanted big bucks i'd do private work in baghdad for 100k but it dont interest me!! The Arb world is a wonderful place but if you dont like it then go!! Sorry if i offend, just that people moaning about simple changeable things rather annoys me!! Dave
