  1. Please tell me thats a late april fool.......
  2. sorry for being a little "green" here, but do I take it that a waste transfer licence is different to a waste carriers licence (feel free to talk amonst yourselves / let your attention wander, if you have been through this all before )
  3. Is this to be renamed the old gits thread? At 37 I jacked in my cushy training/teaching number and went back on the tools doing powerline. Climbed all day every day for a couple of years. It was a bit of a struggle keeping up with the youngbloods to start with, but I was surprised how quickly I could hold my own. Eased off again now unfortunately (training and doing audits currently, but where's the fun in that), but next time I come over all "mid life", i'll jack it in and dig the ropes out once more. 40 ain't that old, I thought maybe 57 is old
  4. I thought "new" wood chip was no longer classified as waste? Maybe i'm confused once more
  5. No, she wore wellies of course. Anyway, she has become a vicar’s wife since then, so she is all respectable now (and a big fan of silky saws).
  6. HA HA. Don't think I have ever described my toddler as handy.
  7. For a large lime covered in Ivy, you may well find the ivy is still green in 3 months time. Removing ivy from trees that are being retained can take an age, and its propably not much quicker if its being removed. Could you not just dismantle Ivy and all?
  8. The top of a western hemlock is bent over, as is its suffering from a bit of poisioning (hemlock being poision, you see)
  9. Wasn't aa9 reductions or dismantling or somthing?
  10. I recon you are in line for about 16 "definitive" answers, not to mention a load of "here we go again" and "search for previous threads". For my two peneth, if you want a "cs38" ticket, you will have to take the assessment. If you want a cs39, take that assessment. You could contact Alan Howell at Lynher training, and ask him for his take on the situation as I know for a fact he loves to tussle with NPTC policy. It may well be a long phone call All the best on your quest.
  11. now then lets see.... a 6,......... 3 for that one, no maybe a 2, .....couple of 1's there, now then do the averaging bit...... ...... ...errrr.........damn! my low "working out an average" rating of 0 has given me an overall score of ... ZERO.
  12. income? or "profit"
  13. Ha Ha, thats my technique. Forget the proper way, just bodge till it seems to work right.
  14. alas, I thought this thread was about someones new wee chipper.
  15. Is Mr Ian Mobbs still on the WPD audit scene? He used to live slap bang in the middle of our managed unit. That made for plenty of unscheduled audits (not that we didn't deserve it back then!)
  16. Or you could just work with WPD on your back No need to worry about slipping into slack ways then
  17. worked for me. he he he (just kidding)
  18. I rekon nothing would hit the fan at all. He would probably just stop being down your way and scuttle up my way and set up once more.
  19. I have got my mums old homelite somwhere. It hasn't got an ounce of plastic on it, its all cast metal. Proudly down the side is written "the worlds lightest direct drive chainsaw". It weighs about the same as an 088!
  20. ......OK...... How about "work on your own and keep both feet on the ground"
  21. You may well get a tap on your shoulder from HSE if you are working at height without adequate rescue provision, accident or not. Poss one of the only things they will spot check.
  22. Ditto the above. don't want one, but just might get one anyway in respect of the last paragraph!

    dam birds?

....or you could sellotape an inflatable owl / buzzard up there. Although, to be honest, my neighbour once had a plactic heron in the pond to deter the real herons and that did a lousy job

Have you considered a Céline Dion cd? I once had a very nice rimfire rifle. .22 Sako, moderator on the end. Very stealthy and more effective than microsoft anytime Also worked on them pesky squirrels. Anyway, off to cuddle a bunny.
  25. FACT. :lol:Yeh, but you can be sure someone will disagree!
