  1. I have a whistle, just no first aid kit!
  2. Tell 'em ya best sheep shagger joke?
  3. Make Jethro an offer, his set-up never seems to leave the yard!
  4. Go the 260 with 16/18 inch bar... most useful for snedding, small felling, cord wood etc dont be suckered into buying a big saw for posing, the smaller ones got plenty of poke (a sharp chain helps!). One saw cant do everything ie ring up big tree trunks etc but my 26 defo gets the MOST use.
  5. it's when my hands thaw out and my nose stops running!
  6. Good luck mate, persevere, the height thing gets a lot easier with a bit of practice!
  7. Anyone know what the sub contracting scene is like in Christchurch? not worked in the industry back home and was just wandering if contract climbers are used much?
  8. Im about 11.5 stone using 3 wraps and 2 crossovers, if anything this setup (8mm cord on a 13mm rope) runs a bit too tight, especially when wet. I prefer that though to slipping all the time...
  9. looks like Sumner, Christchurch? bet ya get plenty of pine to fell there eh...

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
