  17. Hi GG we only have softwood at the moment, Spruce hope to be back in some hardwood in September. Got 50 ton of 3 meter Spruce 8inch/16inch approx roadside at Haltwhistle, we have 300 tons still to fell, we can cut to spec for log cabins and roundhouses. Also at Crook co. Durham we have 50 ton of nice straight larch still to fell 10/20inch and plenty of smaller Larch as well 6/10inch 100tons. Hi JH i,ll give Euro F a try. Been thinking of using some spare money to buy a couple of secondhand machines while theres lot,s for sale and some cheap, ready for when times get better.
  18. This week see,s our first truck load of softwood sold this summer, not even had enquiries about hardwood. So we,ve stopped cutting as it,s a waste of time and money to cut it then be unable to sell it and then it,s stacked at roadside drying out loosing money, at least all our machines are paid for and our premises which makes the hard times easier. Is it just us that,s struggling to sell timber or is it difficult for you to?
  19. Hi Derek we have one on the front of our Zetor, ok but painfully slow.

  23. We use 3metre as our std length.
  24. I think that people are giving up making firewood and importing the ready made stuff from the Baltic states, we looked at it and it is cheaper than making our own and we harvest our own timber, and i think it is affecting our timber sales as firewood producers are buying the ready made, instead of buying our timber and producing there own firewood. There are in hard times ahead for small forestry and firewood production.
