  1. Still ticking over nicely 5 loads tommorow rest of the day splitting timber and keeping stocks up! Jon just a little note worth mentioning.... Your spelling mate:lol: I dont think i've ever seen a post of yours that isn't full of awsome spelling:thumbup1:Think it should read "SELLING" and "UNIT"??
  2. Got orders for about 20 loads for next week already what about you Jon roughly what you shifting now quantity wise??? Thanks Phil
  3. pmsl:lol: always carry a decent thermos cup aswell. And cadge as much tea/coffee of customers as possible.
  4. just bringing in another 60t of ash and another 65t of oak next week(dead for years and bone dry). Anyone tried horse chestnut for firewood??? I've got the chance of 500t+ sales are about the same as last year and briquettes are in just about every local farm shop. I reckon my area is going to go mad with the first cold spell? As alot of customers have still not ordered yet as it's still fairly mild. Jon did you see my message about a friend of mine lives in Frome and he's after nice seasoned hardwood logs, Thanks Phil
  5. Yeap couldn't agree more:thumbup: I remember when Steve was first on about setting this up. Not sure how many customers have found my number through it, I seem to remember loads of people saying they were going advertise not sure just how many did though??
  6. Which side of Glos are you mate?? I know of a job starting fairly soon dropping s/wood not too far from Tewksbury. Transport is a nightmare around here at moment I've been waiting a couple of weeks just to get 2 loads of Ash moving 15 miles
  7. Lets wait then:thumbup1: "Seasoned ash cord" price to be confirmed with buyer (only because they will be too embarrassed to admit what they've paid:lol:)
  8. I'll hold on to it and wait for the classic "Cordwood wanted" ads to come up on here when the classic small time firewood suppliers keep putting ads up reapetedly and roughly once a week for "Cordwood wanted" It'll be a bit more then:thumbup:It's a bit like the customers you get when it's -10 demanding logs to be delivered immediately because they have no logs. Thanks Phil.
  9. There is if you google briquette.com the company are called RUF i think and i think there machines start at around the £200k!! It's the moisture content in the product being made into briquettes that causes the headache you have to get it down to around 8% for your woodchip it would work out cheaper to have a hammermill to process the woodchip prior to going into briquette machine.
  10. Wait for it!!!!! Thats far too expensive:lol:
  11. firewoodlogsevesham.co.uk

  12. I like it. You will be charging what per cube this season.
  13. The're about 9k. You will struggle to briquette woodchip it's too big:confused1: All i do is call at local cabinet makers on fridays and collect all sawdust FOC then the rest is history I only briquette h/wood and strictly no mdf dust.
  14. Fill the hopper on top full of sawdust press one button and hey presto it poo's out briquettes, Its oh so easy compared to cutting logs. I hope they sell this winter as the price of logs is getting silly now:lol:
  15. When I put my log prices up in October customers will still buy them and maybe I'll lose a few customers but i'd sooner supply dry logs at a profit than be a busy fool breaking even and breaking my back for nowt.
  16. That blue thingy is my model of Briquette machine:thumbup:
  17. Hardwood will become a luxury. This will only do seasoned softwood a good turn. How many of us moan about customers moaning "Where too expensive" and our answer "If only they knew how much work went into a load of logs!" Now to all people saying £60t is too much my answer to you. I aint working for nothing! If my logs are too expensive then my answer to customer then try elsewhere. They normally phone later that seaon after struggling to burn that 1tonne load of wet willow that was half the price of mine. If the cord is too expensive for you the please re-read above,Failing that use my briquettes!! Thanks Phil
  18. And you pay what for cord? The stuff we're all not allowed to see that is:lol: Thanks Phil
  19. Nobody likes being cold:lol:
  20. Roughly speaking coal up 15%-20% People with wood burners want wood not coal If you speak to any wood burner installation person ask how busy they are:thumbup1:
  21. Why is there no money in it at that???? Just up your log prices:sneaky2: I dont mean to be funny but do you see the oil tycoons worry about price they supply fuel exactly the same as we do, everyone needs firewood it's just very few have the balls to set a realistic price and make a profit rather than tick over breaking even or worse still making a loss. I know theres always old Jim down the village does his few loads for beer money but hes normally sold out by november:001_rolleyes: My landlords brother works for a very large timber enterprise and he's just sold 7 artic loads @ £67t and sold them within a day.
  22. May have? a bit of excess(possibly 50t) Ash cord mostly processor size 6"-12" for sale will be around £60t collected from roadside. Thanks Phil
  23. I dont think thats going to happen:001_rolleyes: Sorry to hear about your 50+ tonne being stolen Jon did they steal it on artics? because that sure is alot to go missing. I have a friend lives in Frome and he's got a log burner can i give him your contact details/website address as he'll be after good seasoned logs
  24. Thats one cool forwarder:thumbup1: These cord stacks are the proper jobs looks like some nice processor timber there too.
