  1. Thank you! Yes it is, isn't it! There was a lot of it around a pile of old wood and that one was the most ear like by a long way!
  2. Some photos from the woods a couple of day ago. Any advice for taking better photos gratefully accepted- I know there are some good photographers on here. Thanks!
  3. Lol that's very kind of you, I appreciate it
  4. Nothing... any single men on here?! Lol.
  5. Thanks Rob. Not all of it is public access, there are rights of way, but around the meadows and ponds and near that monolith are private.
  6. Beautiful shots, looks worth a visit.
  7. Yes it looks familiar, I'm sure I've seen plenty of it! Just had no idea what it was, so thanks!
  8. OK thanks, the trametes gibbosa I've been shown before didn't look like that one top, perhaps just how mature it is?
  9. Ah yes, thanks for pointing that out, I hadn't noticed the different colour, thought it was the lighting. They were in a very awkward spot so I didn't get a good look- just stuck my hand in, vaguely aimed the camera without looking, pressed the button and hoped for the best!
  10. Thanks, I've noticed trametes and before, also bjerkandera adusta and stereum hirsutum but not the other two.
  11. Velvet shank? I thought I'd seen those before but recall a much darker colour on part of them? Thanks.
  12. These were all on a branch that came off the tree in the first pic- so were the ones just above.
  13. Yes it's good, sadly only part of my job though!

Oh I'm sure they'd love it if you let them- the children I take to the forest have a fantastic time and they learn so much.

  14. The tree in the first pic had these on it- terrible photo as zoom not working and in shadow but any ideas?
  15. Forest School sessions, in my case with 3 and 4 year olds, basically learning outside, building dens, getting covered in mud, collecting stuff, building fires, knots and things, learning about plants/trees/animals/insects. There's more to it than that obviously but that's a brief idea! Leicestershire area.

  16. Thanks! More into the forestry side of things though I'd love to give climbing a go.
