  1. Niiiice where can you get tested co this is wot I really wanna do is see the exact strengths of my splices. Yeah the whipping is great nice finish off innit. And a few more that I've done these where some of my first ones practised on the easy stuff first
  2. Nice one so just a practice one then or is it usable for anything? That's a lot of whipping aswell just making sure eh:p that low bit is very neat mate n I bet that bit closest to the eye werent easy either
  3. Done a few other things like sorting out the exhaust that got absolutely destroyed by a rock!!
  4. A bit of progress on my landy been doing little bits my favourite being the new seats:D
  5. It weren't too bad once you get the hang of it you find ways of making it easier for yourself n friction cord is easy anyway best stuff to learn on:) Although I did get the sore hands again the other day doing some Yale blaze not a nice rope to splice at all!!
  6. Urm dunno mate we just use electrical tape marker pen n then shrink wrap seems to work alrite ish nothing proper waterproof unless u get one of those printer things n then shrink wrap I guess
  7. Cheers urmm I think it's just the shrink wrap that u can get from fr jones or honey bros Yeah it is the best way to do it:)
  8. Cheers yeah not as bad I thought they would be yeah wrapped round a guiness at the moment seems to be doing the trick!! Haha yeah plenty of practise!! Yh plenty of ropes and pulley savers n all that:) No probs shuts u up about my wonderful beeline hehe lol:p

  12. My new Landy collected it yesterday and got lots planned just need to magic up the money to do all the things I want It's a 1985 landrover 90 it's got disco 200tdi engine and that's pretty much it:biggrin:

  17. haha yh it was typical it wasnt my own saw so the person who it belongs to seemed to have been goin at some concrete with it lol:001_tt2: the chain was wrecked there was even damage to the top of the cutter:confused1: Haha yh thought i would add a bit of slow mo for dramatic affect ;p
  18. Cheers yh I quite enjoyed editing it windows movie maker is brilliant much better than I thought:) Was bit of a shame I didnt get the fell as well but there's always next time

  20. I havent tried it with the little red krab yet at first I jus had a loop of the rope with some shrinktubing on it but change it because couldnt get the loop small enough to stop the eye passing through it so Im thinking either a small cambium saver ring or maillion
  21. Schwabisch self tends quite well and tends to lock off nicely even if its nice and loose I usually use 8mm Armor Prus with it and it works nicely

Theres no need to rush the assessors are just lookin to see if your safe and confident in knowing what your doing dnt matter how fast you can get around the tree if not doing it safely then there not gonna be happy, speed comes with practice and experience:) and as everyone else has said keep your kit nice and tidy assessors love it and it will make your climbing so much easier
