FOX GLOVE TREE saw one of these yesterday in a public garden in abergavenny [monmouthshire] went out for the day with the wife and kids shopping and we popped in these gardens i have never heared of or seen one of these trees before what an awesome tree with massive leaves,had a look on the net and they are an import from china,it did mention when this tree is pollarded the leaves grow large,tree did not have any signs of work carried out?so i would like to see the size on the leaves when the work is done [could use them as a picnic blanket] leaf in the picture is with my daughter [molly] who is six leaf is 15" from top to stalk and 10" wide any one seen one of these tr[ATTACH][/ATTACH]ees
  3. the veg oil we used was recycled for chainsaw use,but was still very poor [we were working on a farm up in the brecon beacons and it was very cold ]

  7. veg oil goes lumpy in the winter when its cold,also makes you want food because it smells like chips cooking:laugh1: motor oil does not have anti fling,so you would prob go through it very quick:sneaky2:

  9. cold calling is against the law. nothing wrong will leaflet posting,as you are pre warning possible customers and then its up to them to contact you,if they want work done i get work from posting bussiness cards,i have a card on the notice board of the local paper shop[i live in a small village]but the bulk of my work is word and mouth,and most are repeat customers,who call year after year,to prue the same trees and cut the same old hedge
  10. i know where you are coming from,my parents only 4 days ago had their border collie[nell] of 12 years put to sleep,she was diabetic,she went blind in one eye and her organs started to fail. i have 2 daughters 9 and 6,they grew up with that dog and loved her very much

  21. same here in a small corner of the uk [wales] i had to fell a tree just like the one in your pics,the tree in the front garden i had a few probs getting it down,but my mate said,you CAN do it:laugh1:
  22. you are not weird,i am living the dream?? on a more serious note,i am loving it,when theres a chainsaw in my hand i am as happy as a pig in a bacon sandwhich when all the cutting out and hedge laying is done,then the double fence,thats when it gets boring and the days get longggggggg,strain the wire,staple here staple there blah,blah:thumbup:
  23. we are cuttings sections,some larger pieces and then some small stuff all at the base ,then we double chain it and when we pull the weight of the bigger stuff drags a fair bit or the smaller stuff out,[it dont help that the groud :blushing:is so boggy]
  24. and dont it block the chipper,and kill your chain[why is gorse so damm hard]
