The thin metal strip needs to go back into place so i can turn the saw on to choke and warm start The magneto seems to be catching on the fins i have moved it back as much as i can but the pull cord it making it catch any idea Thanks tree man tom for your help

Thanks for the replays guys I have spent 2 hrs trying to get it back together I rang up my local stihl deal and he said it would cost more to fix it then what its worth so he said not to bother Ill have a look thru the manuals that elfinwood saws thanks for the links much appreciated

Hi any 1 no of any where in nottingham where i could got a get my saw looked at a.Dropped it today and know it wont start up Opened it up and the switch has come lose and wont click back in. When i go to turn it on to choke it just flicks back up to off and wont stay downt also the magneto looks a bit damaged wish i could just get a new saw but no work = no money = no saw

Have a watch of the video and see if you can see the porblem.This is a 2002 made saw i got free from a uncle of mine its been sitting in his shed for the last 4 years not used Works fine apart from the chain will run on its own at diff speeds with out any power going to it I can put the brake on but then i can smell a burning from it Any ideas Im in nottingham at the mo so if there is any 1 is in nottingham who dosen't mind giving it a once over for me i would extremely grateful Pm and we can come to some agree meant [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3smLymlN1o]YouTube - Sthil Ms180[/ame]

Got my first saw today for free off an old uncle Gave it a clean and it started up first time after 4years in the shed looking for a chain for it now then specs i could see of the bar Well whats left of it is 14inch bar .50 That was it its a 2002 model as well Hope you can help guys The fuel what would you reccomend 50:1 25:1 how would i mix it as well is it 25mm of oil to 1litre of petrol It might be a crap saw but im made up with it
