  1. Look, heating oil, as has been extensively discussed, is not suitable for use in diesel engines. If you put it in it`ll very likely damage the engine and that won`t be cheap to fix. Overheating, lack of lubricants etc. Anyone who does that with their own machine is the master of their own destiny and good luck to them. If you think it`s either acceptable or worse, amusing, to use the heating oil in someone elses machine then that`s wrong in my book. Stop defending the idiocy of it.
  2. You say in your reply that you won`t use kerosene in YOUR kit. You still think it`s a good idea to put in other peoples machines then? Good luck borrowing a chipper when you need one!
  3. As has been mentioned, putting it in a hire machine is a pretty nasty thing to do. Do me a favour, post your company name up so - can warn my dealers not to hire to you5
  4. Hello all, Just for information for any of you who own Kwik Chip machines and need spares I am putting up the contact details here. The history of the brand is that they were always made by Tunnissen in Germany and only rebadged in the UK as Kwik Chip. Werner Tunnissen decided to sell his company and at roughly the same time Nigel and Ian at Fletcher Stewart decided to concentrate their efforts on their arb equipment and not chippers. The global brand is now simply TS and the range is still being made in Germany in the same factory as it has been for many years. Improvements and developments continue with a move to Kubota engines beginning as I write this. For parts, service information, technical information etc. contact Commercial Wood Shippers & Shredders equipment | TS INDUSTRIE Eric Hunter/ TS Uk Tel: 01628 778644 speak to Susanne Jeremy Smithers - UK Manager 07825 012261 [email protected]
  5. Have a look at the new TS machine. 400mm wide infeed conveyor feeding through a 200mm x 140 mm opening to the rotor. Kubota and sub 750KG
  6. Have a look at the TS190, German built but not priced like Schliesing
  7. Having sold these machines in the past I am aware of a number of engine failures with that engine in dusty conditions. The normal problem is damaged bores and even cracks between the bores. Obviously this can lead to compression problems. This was most common on 352`s where the usage was fairly high. In other words, someone who does stump grinding as their main job without any tree work. My thoughts have always been that the radiator gets blocked quite quickly and has no chance to clear, leading to overheating. Find a good workshop with a camera to have a look down the bores before you do anything. Regards Jeremy
  8. Nobody has mentioned Tunnissen stump grinders. There are options for PTO. wheeled or tracked machines. German built, cracking deals.
  9. Wood Ed The 16-23 Safetrak is a very capable machine in certain situations. But you have to ask yourself where you need narrow access, probably a garden. Are tracks the best thing on a lawn? Having used them on chippers and stump grinders I know I prefer wheels! What price is the 16-23 safetrak these days?
  10. I agree, the CS100 is a great machine on the right material. If it`s thorny or bushy then feed rollers really help. But if you are chipping straight stuff the CS100 is hard to beat.
  11. When you are looking at whether a machine is expensive you need to take into account its expected lifespan and the maintenance that you will carry out in that time. Tunnissen have always used high quality components and intelligent design. Having said all that it is a very reasonable £8050 plus Vat
  12. We have a new model, the GM10M or Gardenmaster. It is self propelled 80cm wide and weighs 515kg. Also capable of chipping 4" through 14cm wide, twin feed rollers managed by a no stress system and a feed control/ safety bar. Hope this helps
  13. I`ve come across a Landforce chipper for sale. Does anybody know much about them. I haven`t come across them before. It is big, about 8" capacity I think, with a Deutz engine. I`d be pleased of any input you guys could give. Thankyou
