  1. well, I am glad this was posted, i think its a great idea, just another way of marking your kit, but VERY discretley. you pays your money and makes your choices. iether way thanks for pointing it out.
  2. Auricularia mesenterica Necrosis on ash from I. hispidus Zylem rays too tough for this fungus Rizomorphs of Flamulina velutipes
  3. I realy like them shots fella, you have a good eye for abstracts, lovin the ice image.
  4. I have suffered greatly from theft, but unlike most on here I do know that often enough it is found, but equaly as often, they cant connect a haul to its owners, and so they cannot prosecute the holder on those items. I was even asked by a copper to go to a warehouse they had hit to see if I recognised any of my kit as they was desperate to have this guy. it was a big outfit warehouse and all, no small fry. MARK YOUR KIT, you DO stand a chance of getting it back, but these guys get away with it because of numbnutts who "cant be bovverd innit"
  5. listen guys, its 25 quid right? to have a unique ID linking the kit back to you, what the hell cant you see being benificial?
  6. Now that is just simply stunning, its the form and body language, the story its telling. best standing dead shot ever!
  7. probably very little, as you would be wallace in this scenario!
  8. do you know what huck, im pretty darn sure right now you deliberatley hunt me down! If you READ my reply, quoting jonty, who IS going for approval youll get that I am talking to the guy that IS. stop busting my balls huck
  9. Aurivella, my all time favourite Pholiota.
  10. Im not having that! thats an outrageous display of acadamia! im am off to do my own version!
  11. Top bit of shaping, technicaly a "round over" but So the right thing for fastigiate hornbeams
  12. I know what you mean and total agreement from me! Ive wanted a set up like that but with a small timberwolf for ages.
  13. I Always treat these stubs the same, clean as possible as though making a target prune to an ordinary limb removal. this also has the bonus of, occlusion or callous coverying the wounded exposed xylem in time, and the inrolled occlusions can often give great strength to the cavity they roll into. imagine how much rigidity a buckets rim gives it? try and cut the rim of and fill with water! good demo
  14. good luck on the proscess, watch your game the assesors will find the corners cut! we had an old prussick that had gone down the back of the bench found on an assesment, it was asked why it was there and not binned! It was light hearted, but they will go through you with a fine tooth comb! get your guys into good habits for at least 2 weeks before the drill! they will slip, I did, my visor!
  15. This is influenced 100% by corporate drive, research requires funding, and no corporation is going to fund a profitless research project, it is down to us, as hard as that is to buy our own tools, use our own time to "expose" the REAL goings on. I know of at least on High profile researcher that gave up research due to corporate "influence" money rules the world, sad but true.
  16. I have always wondered about this conflict of interest debate, after all isnt the advice you give as a contractor on quotation for the work the same as a report given by a consultant that amounts to the same thing? Is it conflict of interest, or just a way for the "academics" to keep those jobs for the "boys"
  17. no go on you might be able to give me an alternative opinion that changes my thoughts on doing that!
  18. brown rot, saprobe, not invasive, so probably a good thing on this cut helping defend against more serious fungi!
  19. judging from what I can see yours is indeed messenterica, those little fruit bodies are most likely a form of peniophora, this thread has been most constructive for me! Now I will know whats what when i see these pretty little fungi
  20. I would say yes, but i am still looking into the Peniophora that goes with it, the little fungal fruit bodies on the bark in your image may well be thus, and confirm the identity
  21. So you dont subscribe to the profesional opinion that this has conflict of interest issues?
  22. bjerkandera adusta, the smoky bracket
