A few from Leven hall to begin with then various grabs from a mini bimble round Windemere:thumbup1 :

  3. thats a lot of faffing about for a little conny bashing!
  4. Ill do it for an arbtalk dare if somebody is willing to video, from ground if need be!
  5. I fail a lot! but then I like learning, and one cant learn without mistakes.
  6. This video is essential viewing, it should be easy for you guys, she the presenter is a bit of a fitty! brains and looks, oh and wait for it, she likes fishing too! so I know your going to watch it for the duration, there is a fundamental message herein. And a lot of opportunity for ecosystem restoration, you just need to THINK! WE CAN, do this you know, it isnt hard, but we have to start, and i would only ask you pull your head out of your rear and start [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhSggAFw7TU&feature=relmfu]TEDxDubbo - Ichsani Wheeler - The Good Carbon Story - YouTube[/ame]
  7. I was teasing you old cheesey quaver:lol:
  8. Science is not absolute truth, its pieces of truth very VERY small pieces. The rest is made up of instinct intuition basic common sense and ask yourselfs some basic questions. Can this ecosystem exist if the climate changes significantly, can it work the way it has for millions of years without great forests like the taiga and Amazon basin? Can we expect the ocens to continue coughing up the cod, the tuna, the herring? can our crops survive even drier conditions than the dust bowls they are already forced to grow in and sustained on irrigation? what happens when water demand outstrips input to the system, especialy when it runs of the dust bowl of compacted earth we have? I could go on all night, this is a good start
  9. Paul, I dont think your the science police, so maybe a different wording is warranted? something along the lines of do your homework before jumping to a conclusion and wasting our time?
  10. And it does look like its almost intervienal chlorosis, so magnesium would be my shout too
  11. That video was awesome, bit off thread, although it does illustrate that we have the POTENTIAL, its just so few direct it, and thats why were here, we just dont see it usually.
  12. Analysis of global fire risk shows big, fast changes ahead
  13. Whilst that is flattering, I have a lot of weak areas! it WILL happen again, just dont recomend holding ones breath till it does:lol: Anyone at ANY level can learn, and certainly the likes of me, even the top boys can learn a thing or two (I wasnt talking about me there by the way!)
  14. But if it goes too far, life itself indeed may well adapt, but that can take millions of years, the question is how many of us if not all will survive in the duraion of new adaption to a new world, for everything this exists now exists through interconnected evolution, we are part and parcel, oooops no were not, weve come along very late in the game havent we? mmmm maybe its not us that will benifit from change but maybe the garden will.
  15. indeed. of the severn deadly sins greed & gluttony has to be our greatest, next to vanity.
  16. Pumpy, youll be well aware of the nutrient poor nature of our modern crops then?
  17. that is the whole point, its all out there to be read and uncovered.
  18. mods modding themselves these days, now theres a novel thing!
  19. Personally Im trying hard not to take offence at anything anyone says to me, I get too uptight and take it all too seriously. in fact i take everything too seriously.
  20. Ive seen this before, and as with last time, base jump my way home, imaging the rush, bet they earn good money too
  21. WE are the issue Paul, WE are the solution, WE have to do everything WE can, not they US, you me all of us are they, thats the problem we all keep saying what can I do about it, that is a very ignorant and selfish idea.
  22. mmmm, sundays little bimble round the Whip, I was really sorry to have missed the gone over clump from a malus I knew would be a possible holder, would have been the biggest Ive ever seen to date and ive seen some lumps in my time. Reckon this would have been pushing 20+pounds in its prime, the old white one.
  23. Well I know for certain that my path almost certainly lies in a yurt or log cabin on some land where \i grow as much as I can and ensure all my carbon is taken back out of the system I put it into. For now I stim my grass infrequently and then allow it to grow again as everytime I do this more carbon is put into the soil and more organisms thrive, this year I wil plant some trees which will become pollards for my fuels. I recycle all that is recyclable but I'm going to start shopping smarter, ive always declined carry bags wherever possible though sometimes I forget my bags for life. Im going to also re start my veg plot because the air miles on my food is ridiculous, and will buy english apples and raspberries etc for my fruit intake rather than bananas ect. In time I will install a combi boiler which is a big guilt for me, my system is so old and inefficient. A couple of hens, a bit of a wild forage to supplement and I reckon i can do 50% minimum of my needs for food. As for the car, well thats going to take some thinking about, not too sure how Im going to sort that problem out, but a more local job maybe at gristwoods would be a big start:thumbup1: then i could bike it and only use the car for the long journeys I need to do. I also need to consider my water consumption, need to move to a grey water system some how. I am sure I can do an awful lot more, just dont know what yet, though easy steps, wean myself of this unearthly dependence
  24. They look like Pholiota aurivella to me, and Ive not seen Gerrit post for a while, I hope he is O.k are you with us Gerrit?
  25. oh thats a corker, such a great year for them never seen so many and such good examples as have been posted of late. awesome, loving it.
