  1. Don't let the receding hairline fool you, I'm half your age.
  2. A few pics of the youngster, who is learning his trade.
  3. Nature dos'nt abide by the rule book, nearly sliced through the lot, taken this morning
  4. If you follow the facebook link at the bottom of any of my posts, there are several links to some horse loggers in the USA, worth looking at.

  5. She certainly is, Ardennes, hopefully she is now in foal to the stallion, I really want to keep her line going as she is a tremendous worker.

Anyway, if yer dad or uncle get any big jobs and they ever need a hand, let me know, I don't mind travelling for the work.

  6. Have you seen any of the threads that i have put up, some pictures of where i have been working.

  7. Not over busy, but as busy as I want to be sort of thing. I am felling and extracting for next years firewood, firewood orders are now coming in, and I've been breaking a stallion, who I reckon has taken a couple of years off me life, but he his coming good now, and will turn out to be a special one I think.

  8. Bloody hell thats a long time, I've only been at it for 5 yrs, where abouts are you, is most of your work thinning, softwood, hardwood, or anything you can get?

  9. How long have you been horse logging then?

  10. Ay up Ross, you there?

  11. Yes, she was but can save a lot of time, especially if it's a long haul to the deck, also very good for keeping large timber tidy. I see you use the Ulvins, a great bit of kit that is, I made one of my own, but no where near the same league as that. Anyway off to bed now, catch up with you again, all the best, Ralph

  12. No external jobs at the moment, but I keep myself busy in local woodlands where I fell and extract for my firewood business. Do you know Simon Lenihan?

  13. Hi Ross, (i'm presuming thats your name, saw Lindisfarnecharcoal mention it), it's nice to have another horse logger on board, do you have plenty of work on? Ralph

  14. I can categorically state that I have never worn a denim shirt or sported a moustache, anyway I thought Redruth boys were the trendsetters down 'ome
  15. I don't think colour had been invented back then
  16. Long time ago Bri, I can still ride well, just the horse would have to carry an extra 2 stone
  17. Never mind, all the best with the new job
  18. Wow, nice style there Dave,
  19. Great thread this, given me loads of ideas, I've just got another 70 acres to play with, and the owner will be up for this sort of thing
  20. Great to see another one on here! We could take over the world yet:thumbup:
  21. Yep, send me a pm with your details and I'll put it the post, CJ
  22. A few lines from a poem; "there are men both good and wise, who hold in a future state dumb creatures we have cherished here below, they shall give us joyous greeting as we pass the golden gate, is it folly that I hope it may be so; for never man had friend more endearing to the end, truer mate of every turn of time and tide, should I think we'd meet again, it would lighten half my pain"
  23. Yep, that trailers got character
  24. Mark Cavendish, just awsome!
