  2. had a meeting with my accountant today. HMRC have closed the loophole you can only now claim back 6 months on tangible items. Its no longer 3 years dont be fooled.

  6. Ive been called out to a fallen Walnut. The tree is at the back of the garden. The garden is approx 75ft long. The root ball has half come out of the ground that they want it removed. Im thinking cut the trunk to 6ft and put a pull system in the tree behind it and pull it back into the hole and then remove the rest of the trunk and grind the stump out. How would you do it?

  9. VAT rise is a pain. Though I think if you already charge VAT or your explain to the customer how much extra it is. Most can be brought round. IE £500 + The extra 2.5% is £12.50.

  11. Hi I need a contractor for large tree planting. Due to the size of the replacement which I require on this site, I require as specialist contractor. To come and excavate and prepare a planting pit to specification and then provide and plant a tree. Someone has recommended Civil Trees or Capability Brown. But cant find there number anywhere. Help please?
  12. I was wondering if complete their on site risk assessments on digital format I.E Smart phone, Ipad laptop. I'm trying to cut down on our use of paper. Have you had any problems? Legal complications? How do you get staff to sign off the risk assessment?
  13. be positive. I dont know any unemployed tree surgeons in london. i'm guessing your either going to work for gristwoods or citysub. Where there is training paid for and loads of constant work, weekends to. you could rent a room in a cheaper area of town rather for cheaper b&b. There is websites that offer short term rooms ie mon-fri only. travel can be cheap back up north if you book early. if your getting between £400-£600 a month extra. you could take your daughter on the holidays (20 days+bank holidays on paye) good luck what ever you choose.

  17. i had trouble with this when i moved house and changed name. be patient it can take up to six weeks. I spoke to someone online in the google forum. if you mess about with it to much google will shut it down. MAPS: Make sure you have a business address on your new website, google will match this to your google places site. Priority goes to people that advertise in thomson local, secondly ltd co in thomson local. Also get people to give you reviews on google places this helps. Get links to your website ie arbtalk signature, yell.com. Build your profile, business photos, logo, voucher. this shows google you are taking a active interest in your mini site. Oxleas Tree Care - Google Maps also register your new site with google.co.uk, this also takes six weeks. Hope that helps

  20. Just wondered if anyone had bought any embroided hi viz polo shirts for their company. Ive looked about online the prices varies alot and the quality seems abit up and down. Can you lot recommend any companies online that you've used and been happy with?
