  1. I am going to have a go at 1400 rpm. I have the engine, and pump coupling cost me £123. Apparently max pressure at 1400 rpm but pump can run to 4000 rpm. More flow less pressure may be better for my beech. I never thought of a pto pump but my smallest tractor is 80hp .I figure mot failed 4x4 jeeps are cheap compared with compact tractors to drag it about. Not sure of cost of 11hp petrol compared to 80hp diesel ticking over. Honda will be cheaper on wear and tear and free up the tractor for heavier work.
  2. Bought this new on ebay about 2 years ago for £800 only problem is its 3 ph and needs a 20kva genset to run it. Have tried tractor hyd but too slow So thought take pump off motor and mount on 11hp honda engine The trailer is a written off genset trailer and will only go round site. Will probably cut another foot off back of trailer and mount splitter nearer axle With hyd power pump at front and 3 ph motor gone it should balance well. Have a hyd hand pump and a ram to lift splitter clear of ground. Have I missed anythg anyone got any ideas before it gets attacked with gas axe again
  3. I have been getting about 3cu metres of this a week I thought some of the larger bits worth cutting down to 7" and putting through a kindlet or kindler machine, but never having used one may be barking up the wrong tree. What would you do with the smaller bits ? or is it just too labour intensive, better to buy softwood and feed machine. Its a shame to burn the smaller bits on an open fire can anyone think of a use.
  4. they are 900x800x400 internal abit small to process into I have about 10 in yard and have access to about 40 on a regular basis. I have used them as a bund for logs to allow air through.
  5. I got it not sure who else did might be a regional thing lol
  6. I use one to cut cord wood in half before putting on processor 8-10" stuff cant beat it. Light to handle . Cheap on fuel especially if you need to leave it idle while moving timber. Cheap if you crush it. I would say better than you should expect for the money but not tough enough for arb work. You need to keep the blade sharp at all times.
  7. Its about 7 years since I had to get legal. But I remember then up to £80 cost next to nothing over that got very expensive. It would be cheap for you and very expensive for him in time and money. I would go ccj especially for spite more than money you could ask him if it was worth the time and motion of going to court.
  8. I do about a 100 tons a year. A bit of a light weight but I really enjoy it, 101 tons would be too much
  9. Supply and demand. People run out of wood last year not enough people supplying. If costs go up more people will process and then drive the price down again. Cant win can you
  10. They did before the credit crunch now you cant get credit anywhere:001_smile:
  11. Have a look at this web site Polybuild, manufacturer of Polytunnels, Poly House Tunnels, Polyhouses and Polythene Greenhouses I think it is a standard design
  12. Posch, you need their catalogue you will be amazed
  13. About 2k new got mine on ebay used for £500. Had the bob cat 10 years now 13 excellent bit of kit.
  14. Like this. i have not found a better way just could do with another 5
  15. I have a company in wiltshire who I ask nicely gives me there old curtain siders. there business is fitting new ones. I like the green ones as they blend in with the trees and dont attract attention.
  16. I see that, looks like he has cut that across the grain. Does not look practical lifting wood above your head. I bet you would get a head ache if you hit a knot.
  17. If you dont really want to do it and dont really need to do it and dont have a huge pile to shift then put your prices up. Three years ago a transit load was £60 round here. I was pushing my prices up every year. This year I will be doing seasoned beech for £145 for 2cmetres in december I will put it up. Some years i am slow until January but if you keep your head most people run out its easier to stay cool if you dont have a mountain of the stuff. Its seriously hard work and no one should have to slave for their money. I think to make it worth while you need to get around £90 a cube. People selling it in builders bags are getting this cos there is only about 1/2 a cube in a bag.
  18. If you are going to Longleat and have tesco vouchers you can get an all year pass for 4 for £20 worth of points 13 rides each . Normally costs about £80. Lasts season or year cant remember so you could go two days as you wont do everything in a day.
  19. Have a look on line at moores valley country park. About a fiver to park good dayout for kids 6+ . Good if you are walking or cycling.
  20. Probably one wood burner and one log vender
  21. were you towing at the same time . Or did you see anyone being questioned about this.
  22. Can these machines take planed soft wood off cuts. can man made board be used like sterling board chipboard or ply I would imagine the glue causes a problem when burnt.
  23. This looks like the tool you need especially if you need to do longish timber into billets.
  24. Buy a quality european model. Or buy the splitter and mount it on a cheap trailer. I have found a contact for bell housing a hyd pump on to honda engines. I cant remember ever buying a chinese product I was happy with ( apart from the paper umbrella you put in a cocktail they are good at those )
