hi andy, there was only decay in the roots, i put my hand in and the roots wer all mushy and some of it was dead and hard, basicly shoved my hand in there and pullled out a load of dead roots, there was no visual reason for why this was goin on

so wots going on with the silver birchs as nearly everyone i see latley is not looking good, all branches just drooping. i quoted to remove one yesterday and it was the same but i had noticed a small hole the size of my hand around the base and found a handful of wot should of been the root, which was rotting and just fell apart when touched, no tell tell signs on the ground, i made the client ware of this and that the tree was in danger of just well falling over into his garage and extension but he was more concerned about the ivy that was growing around the base of some poplars:confused1:

i done quite well, winning a arbour tshirt, a couple of teddy's, work gloves, throw line, some kids toys which i had to put back cos it said not to be used by under 3s, i think andy thought i may choke on the small parts:lol:,andy considered banning me cos i kept winning:lol: also won a car and book that i gave to rich for his boy and he loved it. also gave a donation to cover the p&p from my last win at caple, every bit helps -
well enjoyed myself 2day, shame we had to rush off to watch crap on the tv
