  1. Cool thanks, How far out will the roots be? dripline? Should I add any compost when re-planting? It is a thick sandy soil but it is only being moved a few feet backwards (same soil) Should they keep watering or will this be okay as it is? and lastly, what about support? I plan to dig a hole, dig up tree, move tree into new hole, fill hole in with soil taken out....done Thanks guys:001_smile:

  3. Hi all, I have been asked about the chances of moving a small Salix caprea (Kilmarnock Willow / Pussy Willow, whatever you want to call it. It has just had a major hair cut by its owner and they want to move it to the corner of the garden rather than it being in the middle where it is now. It gets in the way when cutting grass as they have an electric mower and have to chase the cable around the tree etc.. The plan is to move it, and have some light gravel around the base. Any suggestions guys? Is it a wise move?? anything different I need to take into consideration? Not the best pic but it shows all, I could try get a better one if needed. Thanks all, PS.. If you cannot see the pic, go to http://inlinethumb09.webshots.com/44424/2236239680063516494S600x600Q85.jpg

  6. Hi all, Well the college year is almost up. Trying my best to plow through assignments to get them done on time. Im stuck! Here is the question: With the aid of diagrams show how canopy structure and species composition differs between broadleaved woodland and a conifer plantation. You should include. Layers of vegetation Classes of tree in canopy Species present in different layers Height of layers End of question. I am struggling to find any decent information about this, can only find info for rainforests. I want to stick with info about UK forests/woodlands etc. Any pointers would be great, Links etc.. Thanks guys, Lee:001_smile:

I have just give it a haircut and it looks much better, the catkins are great when they come out. Can email some pics if needed. Any tips?? Lee

  18. Hi all, I need a chipper and someone to take the chip away from a job next saturday ( 16th Jan ) - The job is near blakemere craft centre in sandiway/oakmere cheshire. On the A49 cross roads and the A556. (2 mins from the shell garage) Its a fairly big conifer hedge which I am reducing on monday hopefully if the weather is nice enough to me!! The chipper will be needed on the saturday morning and will need to be there until its all chipped basically. I dont know how long it will take, half a day? I have got groundsmen who will stack it all and prepare for chipping. Access is good etc.. If it fills a van or two, I may have a local drop if needed. Any suggestions, prices etc... I will help chip up if it means a better quote :-) regards
