  4. Ha you don't bug me mate.
  5. Haha good one Tim
  6. Building a bank of logs, it would have had to be 10 ft high, and could lead to logs being fired in every direction when the stick hit. I definitely think a more open gob would have resulted in the stick hitting the ground more perpendicular, but it still would have bounced.... What about a load of tyres?!
  7. Cheers Reg, yeah all those things went around in my mind before I edited it... but I thought what the hell, its something different. Not TOO much of a high risk bit of rigging. I was worried about it taking out the bank of wires LOL! I should have cut a more open notch to compensate for the bank.... and I should have trimmed up the buttress. Its no fun if you're not pushing the limits Hey, even DADIO liked it! ha
  8. You are right, it was 70 ft when I started with a 25 inch bar... then i took some chunks off it. ABS of 18000.. The sling took most of the hit, you can see in the slo-mo the timber hitch smoking a little.
  9. Here is a tulip tree on a bank... We took out the branches last week and leave a stick of around 70ft. To stop this log skidding too far, we setup a braking anchor. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eU8DOMqAqqQ]Falling Tulip stick on a slope - YouTube[/ame] If anything would have snapped, I dont think the wood would have gone much further... We used Slings and rope rated to 18000 lbs. We retired the sling.
  10. I think Joe needs a tampon
  11. Lime!!!!
  12. Cheers Reg, come to think of it we were drinking alot of gatorade last year... Rob, add some gin to that and its an afterwork refreshment!
  13. Reg the Harris was ok mostly on that job yes I rigged the first part over a big irk to be sure of the integrity of the tree, then installed a pinto rig higher up. Mulberry sure is heavy. I drink whatever is at hand, usually the customer provides ice water, and I fill p the camelbak with that. Been getting into zip lining recently, I love it, and so does the groundcrew.
  14. Oh dear. Sorry Mike! Maybe start another thread?
  15. Cool! Was that you?
  16. using the pantin.....
  17. All about trialing stuff, spend a few quid on some other hitch cord, experiment.
  18. I would ditch that cord and get something else, without eyes, like Yale silverstreak... Fishermans on either end, then you can adjust length if necessary... looks like the legs are solid on yours... that wont help you out.
  19. Why are you here, and why are you derailing Mikes thread?
  20. Wages to depend on ability, attitude and qualifications. 80 or 15%?
  21. Go Andy, Go Andy, Go Andy,
  22. Yeh Dan, the biggest Ive seen over here for sure. Had a big split which was growing.
