thats not realy the problem the gear all has a place to live and appropriate bags etc but in the last week or so all the ropes have gotten v dirty and tomorrow i will be going over every peice of kit we own (as rightly you suggested) my question was what is the best and quickest (safe) method of cleaning ropes/slings etc. so i can have more time to change blades, service machines, grease things... ...and the list goes on.

hi all iv'e got the mother of all sort outs to do tomorrow. we have been flat out for the last few months and as ever the time has come to sort out the gear fix broken stuff etc. etc. what is the best and quickest way of cleaning all the lowering/climbing ropes split tails woopies etc. in the past i have gone for a big drum of water and a good soak then hang to dry has any one any better suggestions please
  13. thats it im off sick tomorrow dont need to be seeing that.
  14. if they dont do the stuff required by law then you should IMO no good wishing you had.
  15. perhaps there should be a new feature added to the forum containing only facts like the one in this thread. but not for people to post on. and perhaps in addition to that one along simmilar lines for asking for info not contained within the previous idea.
  16. do your boys not have all that stuff on site anyway (you should have two climbers) each climber should have a whole kit which should contain at least the minimum of two rope systems inc 4 crabs and i think a spare prussik either way a climber grabbing his harness for a rescue should have enough on it to do the rescue without having to look for spares IMO
  17. am trying to get them to at least put together a "rescue kit" set of spikes, couple of prussiks etc.anybody have anything similar? taffupatree. said the last bit on another thread so i coppied it too here
  18. right come on someone must know if there is a minimum rating stated under puwer or loler. i can remember being told about this during training, this might have changed or been scrapped since.
  19. took this off the other thread quote taffupatree. im trying to set up a regular rescue session in work, bosses are not really buying it though......any advice on the wording i should be trying so i can convince them? sorry bout the derail. quote rod suprise rescues are a good idea we do it now and again especially with our newer climbers. cant remember my assesors name but he said to me that he regularly turns up on a site, stops work and a fake rescue is carried out. this allows him to know they have the right gear with them and they can do it etc etc. definately a good thing someone will know how to put it accross
  20. the shiny one

  22. cant believe no one knows the definate answer COME ON someone
  23. someone must know, they seem to know everything else:001_tongue:
