  1. Nice pics David. I have been lucky enough to have been working in ancient oak woods for the last four weeks (almost exclusively petrea Monkeyd btw:001_smile:) on the banks of the river Fal, cutting down sycamore, and have had the privileige of witnessing the wood wake up.
  2. Black and yellow weaver. It looks a bit like a horses harness, but it has masses of back support and loads of tool rings and two sliding c.a.p's and two fixed side rings. The petzl is really comfy and light, but i sacrificed that for the back support of the weaver.
  3. Not a cedrus:001_smile:
  4. I did suggest that but they said they had no baler twine left!!
  5. Seriously mate- you are sooooo much better off with a good second hand quality machine than ANY timberwolf. Their build quality is non existent imo. Every one i have had the misfortune to use has broken or something has fallen off. My vermeer is ancient and never lets me down. Ever.
  6. I am probably going to receive hate mail,......but......dont touch entec with someone elses mate(timberwol) they are cheap for a reason. Jensen, vermeer bandit schleising. Buy a gooc second hand one and it will be better than a new timberwolf, and you will get after sales service not b.s. Check out Global Recycling's website- they have some nice second hand machines in your price range at the mo.
  7. Loveley tree to climb today- had 200t, 361 and 088 up this one! Removing two large side limbs threatening to pull tree over onto cottage .
  8. Heres a couple from where i have been working on and off for a while now- The second two (both the same tree) stumped us for a long time, and two guys from Kew, which was a bit embarrassing when we found out what it actually was. Suffice to say that both trees are among the first examples of each species brought into the country!
  9. Nice! Given that you are on the moon does your food come freeze dried in silver foil bags? That must save loads of time in the morning.LOL:001_tongue: When i first posted this your avatar said you were on the moon??!
  10. Hahahahaha!: I meant the food/ breaktime actually!
  11. What do you all do for breaks/ lunch at work. Started this thread after seeing food referred to as scran. I stop at 10 am, and at 1pm. 10 am stop called "crib" and on a building site (for example) the place where everyone eats is called a "crib" hut. Got a mate in wales who says it is known as "bait". What do you guys call it?
  12. Ill save you one- you can have it at capel.
  13. Fair play to you mate- excellent job carried out in a proffessional and controlled manner! That looked as if it had a lot of potential for going wrong! Mog looks quite weird!!

I voted no, but i used to do quite a bit.
  15. Dont tell anyone mate, but i got two, and actually didnt want any...

  17. Lets hear about the eggs you all got then? I had maltesers and rolo!
  18. we cant both be......LOL:001_tongue: BTW i dont see the problem- try a 48" bar with 10 degree filing angle inm a mill milling 3'6" diameter sweet chestnut.........EVERY cut requires a sharpen:thumbdown:
