  1. its not actually a 3 point linkage crane, its a Hiab Crane taken off a lorry and welded to the back of the fordson, then a pump on the pto. I will get some pics of the whol set up if you want. You can generally pick hiabs off from farm sales and stuff like that, you could quite easily addapt it to fit the 3 point linkage, our is just welded straight onto the tractor though.

  2. We have these We also have an artic trailer and bogie, that we just load with a loader or crane

  4. coppicing is a gooood idea equipment wise, to be honest i would not bother splashing out thousands of pounds for one, we sell a lot of firewood and we manage fine with "vintage" machinery, look at this topic for some pics - http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=5415 Cheapest piece of tractor driven equipement is probably a second hand saw bench which you could easily pick up for a couple of hundred pounds, e.g. http://www.farmingmachines.co.uk/machinery/M03700 or somthing more basic and cheaper like ours i'll upload a few pics or a sprial type loggsplitter [ame]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_9tsgLexvSQ[/ame] I have recenlty got hold of an older one of these, hasnt changed much, works well: http://www.japa.fi/en/index.php/klapikoneet/sirkkelikoneet/japa-100.html

  7. o right cool, i have a leyland 270, would it be a bit heavy for this? how much can it lift? thanks for the info

  8. ah right, well we have a hiab mounted on a fordson major at the moment, but that is really restricted to use in the yard, as you will see from these videos - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_9tsgLexvSQ http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=svZ5e0KyKgk i am starting to think about getting somthing that would be more moblie to load up our trailers on site easier than a loader. Just wondering about prices n stuff. So would this mount to a tractor realtivly easy? Would it run well?

  9. hey, just saw your ad in the classsifieds about the fmv crane, just wondering how much these things are normally going for?

  10. o cool, they in good condition? might have a few mates from college who will defo be interested Giving my saw a good run in now
  11. havent got that make, but have 2 of the sprial log splitters, we found that the orginal size "log table" it gives you is too small for what we wanted, so we got one custom made by a mate, heres a video [ame]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_9tsgLexvSQ[/ame]
  12. i'll have a look, doubt it though, but i know a few guys who might have, around herefordshire area btw

  15. meh said i would keep posting some pics and info, so heres some more, we have a lot of "vintage" equipment still in use. New Leyland - by new i mean its new to us replacing one of our masseys to run the saw bench, its ugly, someones painted this with household out of a can piant haha, but it goes so that all we care about. Old JCB - not used much anymore, shame really, tidy machine, but its nice to have when we do have some work for it.

  20. I agree with dean, i also didnt find his first comment critisising in a bad way, it was clear understandable point.... yeah it was not a normal way to fall the tree, the winch would have been put under tension even though that winch could handle it, i understand why it was incorect. I really didnt think this disscusion would go this far,
  21. the winch on our fordson?

  22. Hmm, that book looks great! im sooo gunna get hold of a copy in the not to distand future haha does look old lol, but the 090 we have also been talking about doesnt have a chain break either
