  13. It cost in the region of £800 to get the trailer test. which would work out more cheaper in the long run.
  14. I prefer german I have alaways had german machines built like a brickhouse. My current one is a JBM 543 brillant machine which chews anything, which i have had fair while now. but the lads i have don't have the ticket to tow it. She is heavy but that is a reason why she has lasted so long. You have to compromise on having a lighter machine in order for the lads to tow it.
  15. Yes the 160 roadtow one. I saw it at the APF show early this year. I was quite impressed with it, but your right the rollers are the wrong way round. I don't think they grip the branches enough as well as normal machine do. it is lightweight and that does matter when it comes to towing. neat little package.
  16. does anyone know what those greenmech Quadtech 160 chippers are like?

  20. yea thanks for the info guys. I might give west a call. As they are only down the road from me. Does it really matter what oak timber it is? I would guess it is Sessile Oak. I will need to double check this. Yes milling on site should be ok. Some of the butts are straight. We will hopefully be able to get most of the timber down in 8ft sizes.
