  1. Good thread... no advice as I have had the same experience.. no answers just empathy... just weigh up whats important... structure your day define your targets, so when you have completed them you can switch off knowing you have acived your goal for the day, Just ensure they are realistic... if you fail to achieve them on a regular basis then a adjustment is needed as you will make yourself ill and life miserable for you and your loved ones..
  2. Client may consider a Mr Wippy with flake to the collector
  3. I have a Beech stick from a domestic fell that could be collected free of charge. I will be cutting up for firewood the weekend if no one is interested (just a shame as its looks like a sound section of timber). Its approx 1m dbh and has a is 5m in length of sound timber (see photo) Can meet on site Saturday if required or you can collect anytime just let me know day and time. Hiab would be needed to lift over boundary hedge to roadside/pathside PM me for further details
  4. DVLa don't make us take a driving test ever 3 or 5 years , yet lots of work based accidents are vehicle related... The principle that my apprenticeship was based on was that college gave you a basic idea of the principles of your trade and you learnt best practice and honed your skills at work from a mentor... This now seems obsolete when it comes to some institutions and organisations... A green horn straight out of college with the up to date tickets is deemed more competent than a mastercraftman who has honed their skills in their trade for years... I keep a CPD record and keep up to date with best practice attend industry seminars demonstrations and related training. Maybe a CPD submission and a declaration from a employer or mentor would be a better way of maintaining our industry qualifications.. With a basic administration fee per year to maintain your qualifications and skill competence base... Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  7. Don't forget base layers, socks and sun cream... I got 5 cheap long sleeved base layers from decathlon 1 per day. Have some expensive merino wool ones but get so dirty that have to wash them most days even if try don't smell... So cheap and often is my option... Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. Petzl vertex helmet MSA ear muffs Tried the others but I have a big head and nose so this is my preferred option... Also had a problem with the upgraded ear muffs so sticking with the standard option.. Get a mixed bag of gloves, chainsaw protection for assessments and days when you using the saw a lot, then I carry leathers for rope work, cheap rubber palmed builders gloves for dirty work, thin tuff grip gloves for climbing but mainly don't wear gloves in the tree... All gloves wear out so having a selection for the right task will make them all last that bit longer... Also a spare dry pair is always nice to have in reserve... Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  10. I was referred to one following a RTA and have used the advise ever since. My main success was after 7years of suffering with sciatica sometimes very severe episodes and constant pain my wife borrowed a expensive TENNS machine during her last pregnancy so I read that it offers back pin relief, I was suffering with my back and in extreme pain . So on with the machine and when on full blast the pain subsided.. Within a hour it had gone.. I used the machine for the next 2 days as required day 3 I had no pain... 3 years later still no major episodes like before!!! Even when I do feel it coming on it seems to clear up quickly .. Not sure why it gave long term success but can't do you any harm so would urge anyone to give it a go.. Also some good simple exercises I do that give long term relief to my sciatica... Good luck with your issues ... Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. If you have a receipt even better... If its unused then in theory whoever buys it has 6 months before Loler kicks in. Be careful if selling through your business as you may not be insured for product liability and the buyer will have statutory rights on the goods purchased if sold as a new product...
