Thanks mate I will look into that! It's not going to be as exact as the one on that bbc site, mainly because we did that before and it took far to long as we only had the odd weekend to get things done. We have some different plans that should hopefully get it up and ready in the space of two weekends.

would have to be something that can react well to the elements, so pine that we can treat is fine or any rough cut timber. We aren't looking for exactness in this roundhouse but at the moment anything we can get our hands on would be good.

In two weeks time I will be down in devon hopefully starting to build a Roundhouse and will be looking for anyone with supplies of wood near the Okehampton area. If anyone down that area can help me and my mates out for good local supplies it would be much appreciated.

Tips for cleaning sap from ropes and kit??

My tutor reccomended we stuff the rope in an old pillow case and use a bio detergent in the washing machine. Apparently works a treat and the pillow case saves the washing machine from being destroyed. -
I'm no where near your boots in this situation, but i also everything has been said. Another point to make is if at this young age would it be better than moving when he is slightly older, as he is still learning loads in this stage of life it may be benefitial to move when he is this young so he can grow to get used to seeing you not as often as he can, and therefore his understanding of you living so far away will be a part of everyday life for him. As it was mentioned before show him as much love as you intend and make sure he's comfortable with the situation. I wish you all the best of luck in this as it is a very hard task to approach.

it's allways they way in these cases. With the right hand not speaking to the left. Thanks for the offer though it's nice to know, but if you do happen to come across any of the above just let me know and we can supply you with cash or chutneys, we make a mean Apple, Mint and Chillie relish which is blinding on bbq meats or roasted veg if you are that way inclined.

Muppets, you would have also thought the TO would have noticed the 300yr old oak in moreton's recreational park with a 2m stress crack along one of the main branches hanging over a well used path.

Indeed, us lot at Moreton Morrel would be up for this. And considering that area used to be my home territory it would be interesting to see who is doing arb there.

I just read that on a smoking web site, they also said try using Cherry wood. So again, if anyone has any alder, hickory, apple, cherry or oak chips I can give you some pretty nice tasting chutneys

I'm on the search for anyone who has oak chips they want to get rid of as i plan to start smoking my own food. I'm in Moreton in Marsh and can travel to collect.

I forgot all about this guy, untill today when I was reminded about him on my search for Ancient axes. met him on several occasions and is a quallity craftsman and all round nice bloke, he has loads of hand made knives and axes available. Now that is interesting. I have found a guy who can make me a Socket axe which was a preferred axe at the time. What exact job it was used for i'm unsure but there is allways trial and error.
