  2. foresteri 8 m. it takes a bit of getting used to. at first you think it should have stabilisers but once you get the hang of it its excellent.its been on the tractor for 5 years with no problems.:001_smile:the tractor weighs more than 10 tonnes, so well planted.

  10. oh yes, the old battle axe with half moon specs says it every time, then she gets in a flutter because its free. all those years wearing tweed belly warmer knickers, made from camel and badger havent done her sense of humour any favours.

  15. he didnt even try, he put his hand up to it.
  16. my first harness was a baw- cruncher. i got some blue 3 strand rope and just tied it on witha couple of big granny knots, i didnt have a prussik didnt even know what one was. i would pull myself up and tie another big knot when i was in position, it wasnt one of my best inventions, hell maybe it was. but i didnt have any money and no one to show me. oh and the old husky with no chain break wasnt cool:scared1:
  17. there is no way there experts would of seen that cavity under the ivy, prices werent too crazy, they obviously hadnt a clue what they are doing though.but as steve says just a ignorant not evil.(not like the aerial guy) personally i would of recomended felling, if i found that big cavity. i was in a garden today doing clearing rhoddies, the wee old wifey was lovely and clearly wasnt rolling in it. there was a big sitka that had been topped at least 30yrs ago, it had grown out under some bigger larch. it was made up of 3 monster limbs on the oneside that grew to about 40feet. the tree had a lean of about 15-20degrees towards her house which i recon has always been there due to its situation, the backside of the tree was had a burn about 3 feet behind it, so no major anchor roots as i could see the other buttresses. i hated telling her the tree was a bit dodgy and i recommended she monitored it, i will pop in every time i am passing to keep an eye on it. she would of let me fell it no bother and had the cash. she never uses the garden now as her husband is housebound. so the risk to life isnt high. but if it was a guy, that had a young family that played in the garden all the time i would of recommended felling it. but i felt my decision was swayed due the ladies age and circumstances, not the trees condition for the fear of someone thinking i was ripping her off. just remembered the old guys letter of condemnation, i take it back, robbing old git
  18. sorry to hear that edd, hope it turns up mate

  20. they are like the tardis. they had the car version with the seats and loads of cuby holes:001_smile:
  21. what size and age is the tree, and how much is too come off? i would of thought if it was a lovely southern tickle, them knock yourself out. if it was one of my slightly heavier handed cant be arsed climbing too far out the limb reductions, 046 special. yeehaaa . get it done mate:001_tongue: but i liked all the stuff john said, very interesting mate. i will monitor this thread very closely. always willing to learn new stuff:001_smile:
