Just a heads up, had someone ring up today enquiring about firewood. He was suspiciously keen to know exactly where my yard was and what's level of stock I kept regards to bagged logs even though he wanted to buy by the cubic meter. Could be wrong and he could of been genuine but I just had a real bad feeling about the whole thing. It seemed like he may be looking to pay someone's wood yard a late night visit. Just wanted to get warning out there

Looking ahead to future projects, I need to get some quotes for cordwood. It will need to be reasonable quality and approx 12 inches in diameter, and 6 to 8 foot in length. I will need it delivered to otley near ipswich suffolk. If anyone thinks they could help with this please could you pm me with a price per cubic meter, and what volume you deliver in. This is mainly going to be used for cross cutting courses so doesnt matter if it is unseasoned, but broadleaf timber would be prefered Many thanks

I think its wrong to kill buzzards just because they are killing something we want to kill, we pretty much almost wiped them out once but obviously have not learnt from it and if we really think this is about anything other than game birds i think we are being a bit naive plus you look at how many young pheasants you see dead on the roads iv counted over forty on one short country road i would of thought against these losses what is lost to birds of prey must be quite small and i dont think that 20000 acre estate owner who is passionate about shooting is the right person to be overseeing this from what i can gather the destruction of nests is to start next week:sneaky2:

think thats a bit young dont think I would take chance you would never forgive yourself if something bad happened you know what kids are like take your eye off them for one second and thats when they will decide to do something stupid

In what authorities and town officials are calling a tragic accident, a 6-year-old Salem boy was killed Tuesday when he was pulled into a wood chipper while helping his father. Jeffrey Bourgeois, a first-grader at Salem Elementary School, was with his father, Scott Bourgeois, and two siblings at a job site at 24 Brookside Drive when the accident occurred shortly after 8:45 a.m., police said. Salem School students are on vacation this week. Scott Bourgeois, of West Road in Salem, runs C & S Tree Removal LLC. State police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance said Jeffrey, while his father’s back was turned, was attempting to help out by placing a tree branch in the chipper. Jeffrey became entangled and was pulled into the chipper, Vance said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. “It’s a very tragic and difficult scene for everybody,” Vance said. Along with numerous state police troopers and major crime detectives, Vance was joined at the scene by Salem First Selectman Kevin Lyden and Salem Fire Department Chief Gene Maiorano. Maiorano lives across the street from the scene of the accident, knows the family and was first on the scene. He declined to comment. “Today is a very, very tragic day for our Salem residents,” Lyden said. “Our hearts and prayers go out to the family.” Lyden pledged any support available from the town to the family and asked media gathered at the scene to respect the privacy of the family while they grieve. Lyden said he would seek assistance for counselors for the family and emergency responders. Vance said the accident is under investigation by major crime detectives as a matter of protocol. There does not appear to be any criminal aspect to the case, he said. Sthil 260 a good saw to start off with and with a 18" bar you can fell a decent size tree. Could do with abit more power when it comes to cutting big stuff in to disks, but keep it sharp and it will do the job

iv never coppiced anything that young apart from hazel but you could try cutting the stems lower have found in the past that high cut can lead to this sort of growth, also if you cover the coppice stool with the tops not only does it give protection against rabbits and deer and as the new stems grow through i suppose the frame work of the tops can offer some support. hope this is some help and best of luck with getting it sorted

all depends how well behaved the dog is sadly my dog died last year but i take my parents dogs with me when im doing woodland work and yeah they have a good run about but they never chase anything and when the saws start up they go back to the truck without being told and stay there till i say different but they are all farm dogs so got a good idea on how to stay out of harms way

A shot in the dark but you could try easton college on the outskirts of norwich they may be able to use them worth a try

specialist dealer opinion if they went in to a specialist auction and it was old copies of charles darwin that were worth the most but some victorian botany books i have apparently are worth abit but the dealer wanted to do some home work on them before he give value on them
